My salesperson, Dallas, was great. He really worked hard, even after the sale, to make sure our car was clean and ready to go. The experience on the way to the dealer? Not great. While test driving the car the DAY BEFORE, I was heavily pushed into making a purchase that same day, even after repeated iterations that I was not going to purchase the car. Instead, I told Dallas that I would be returning the next day to purchase the car. The following morning, I receive a phone call asking if I was still planning on making my planned appointment at 4:00 pm. I confirmed, and he had the car detailed and pulled around front for when we got there. My wife took off work early, I boarded by dog and took off work myself the whole day. I allocated the money for the purchase. ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER, I receive a call that the car is being sold. I was not asked to place a deposit, I was not asked if I wanted to buy it first, I was simply ignored and the car was being sold out from under me. Only because the potential buyer was denied credit, was I allowed to purchase the car after the 2 hour car ride there. An absolutely awful, deceitful, and ignorant way to do business. I’ve really appreciated the service in the past, however I was pretty disappointed by my service writer this time. Totally cocky and the definition of slimy car salesman. Tried to tell me I was going to p I was pretty disappointed by my service writer this time. Totally cocky and the definition of slimy car salesman. Tried to tell me I was going to pay over $500 for a routine checkup. When I told him I was under warranty and since I came BEFORE I hit my 30K mileage marker, this checkup should be free. He was NOT thrilled that I knew that, and sure enough I was right. Once he realized he wasn’t pulling a fast one on me his attitude completely shifted. When my vehicle was finished he just told me to sign the papers, (didn’t go into detail as to what they actually did), dropped my keys on the counter and walked away. And when I got to my car they didn’t even have the followthrough to change the service sticker on my inside window. I had to go back in and confirm when I needed to come in for my next check in. I was met with such poor attitude and coldness, such a shame, I would expect this from other car brands service teams I’ve worked with, but Hyundai was always so good about communication and customer care. Really hope this isn’t the new standard. More
