My step-daughter brought her Toyota Corolla into this dealer today. Her trunk was randomly opening. The dealer suggested she drop the car off and come back. Within a few minutes after pulling out of the lot, the dealer called and said the issue was resolved, there was some debris in the latch and it was stuck. They said it would be $191 stating that the fee just to look at it is $159 (1 hour minimum of work) plus some other fee and tax. After I had a discussion with the service rep, he lowered the service fee from $191 to $171 ($20). I have used various dealers and mechanics for over 30 years for service and have never had any experience as bad as this one. I realize there are set fees to look at cars, but being adamant to keep your set fee structure for a simple solution is sickening! Needless to say, she will be telling all her recent college graduate friends living in the northern Columbus area to stay clear from Tansky for new car purchases and/or service on their Toyotas (including roommates that also own Toyotas)! I had my 2005 Lexus serviced at Tansky. I was shocked to learn that I had more problems than I knew. I was super impressed with their honesty and advice.
