The work was honest, transparent and efficient. I went to Toyota of Boston originally for my issue and it was not resolved after 5 hours of being in the shop. Expressway did the job for me easily! This is a fun story for someone to read, just don't put yourself in my shoes. Don't say you ever want to go there (Billy Madison shaking the kids face) To start with the positive, most of the people th yourself in my shoes. Don't say you ever want to go there (Billy Madison shaking the kids face) To start with the positive, most of the people there are friendly, but my several month ordeal has been beyond frustrating starting with Sales. Maybe I should have been skeptical when there was little communication between the internet sales manager and sales as to what was to come. We wanted a specific color Hybrid Highlander and Expressway had one in transit or so we thought. We got a price on the phone and came in to purchase the car after waiting a while to find it. They they came with a new sheet the price much higher than we were told. That was quickly resolved with the internet price we were quoted. The car was said to be in transit, which to most people would mean ready to be shipped out and just needs to get on a truck. We did not have any modifications to the car. It was to be delivered in two weeks within a 1-week window. When that window was coming to a close we called to find out it would be the following week, which is understandable given bottlenecks in shipping. Then the next week the same thing happened, no follow up and another delay when we called in to see the status. Again we said ok. Same thing happened the following week. We then tried to get any type of answer and were given customs, the port, we don't know and there's nothing we can do or find out. Luckily after three times the car came in. Sigh of relief, but really the problems are only just beginning. Next comes the problems with the car. The car makes an obnoxious whistling noise when driving 40mph-60mph which we found had been an issue on Toyota nation with other Highlanders. At this point we were quite frustrated and brought the car in, but no appointments were available. To the credit of the sales manager he at least came out to check it out and got a tech to check out the car where both heard the whistling and said we'd need to get a master tech to look at it. He was out for the week on vacation so we were told to come back the following Monday at 9 and the sales manager would be there to facilitate the transfer and talk with service about the issue. Well as with every interaction, he was not there and the service center couldn't hear the noise because it was raining and took two more days before they finally said they could hear it and found a fix, but it would have to come back in a week to go to the body shop. Great, were close to the end. Haha. It was like Sisyphus, the greek god who was tortured by rolling the boulder up the mountain for eternity to have it fall down and start again. First my wife goes during her lunch, to drop it off and pick up the rental, a quick process or so you would think, since it was all lined up. Well she gets there and they do a network shutdown. Not sure this could be helped, but just amazing timing. So this time, it took several days, but we were at least followed up with to say it wasn't ready, but that someone would call us the following day with an update if it was ready. No call, so you would assume its not ready. Well coming up on the weekend we decided to check in and left a message with the service tech. No response, then call back in the afternoon and get a hold of them to find out it was ready the prior day and they decided not to return the call because they assumed we got a call to pick up the prior day. Irony of this situation is I get there and the car still isn't ready. I see it in the parking lot before I walk in without the roof rack cross bars installed, which funny enough my wife specifically asked if they were installed on the call. Thankfully it was apparently a job that doesn't take long as a paced back and forth trying to remain calm. Does the saga end here? Of course not. Soon as I get in the car...guess what's back. The whistling noise. FML. Why would anyone even bother to check the work they did? If you made it this far, I'm not sure who is the bigger fool here, me or Expressway, but here's to the never ending journey, hopefully you've enjoyed the read and saved yourself some time. I don't drink often but when I do its Dos Equis, kidding I drink my sorrows from this dealership. More
