Fake and misleading. I brought my 2011 Toyota Highlander in for a checkup due a humming and/or whining noise when accelerating. The diagnostic charge was $130.00 before t I brought my 2011 Toyota Highlander in for a checkup due a humming and/or whining noise when accelerating. The diagnostic charge was $130.00 before tax. Once the diagnostic was done, my car’s right rear wheel bearing needed to be placed and that was going to cost $1,122.10 before tax while the part costed $400.00. Along with the following fixes or repairs were also recommended to be done on my car. 1/ Replace the platinum spark plugs for $688.46. My car’s mileage is 82,000 and I replaced its platinum spark plugs at 60,000 miles with the same platinum spark plugs. Be advised the original platinum spark plugs could be used up to 100,000 miles. I have no idea how the technician and service staff have determined my car needed the new platinum spark plugs and why it would cost $688.46 before tax. 2/ Fuel service for $199.99. I always pour one $10.00 bottle of fuels system cleaning monthly. Again, I have no idea how and what the technician and the service staff have determined to recommend my car needed the fuel service and the cost would be $199.99 before tax. 3/ Flush services for front and rear differential fluid for $149.00 before tax. Again, Toyota service book didn’t recommend that until the mileage would be 100,000 miles. My car’s mileage is only 82,000. I have no idea how and what the technician and service staff have determined that needs to be done. 4/ Flush transmission for $289.00 because the transmission dipstick fluid is dirty. I replaced the transmission fluid twice for my car and the last time that was done in August 2018. Again, I have no idea how and what did the technician and service staff checked to determine my car needed the transmission flush. 5/ Replace the cabin air filter for $53.00 before tax. My car’s cabin air filter was faithfully replaced quarterly or bi-monthly by carbon filter. I last replaced my car’s cabin air filter 7 days ago, last week. Again, I had no idea how and what the technician and service staff have checked and determined my car needed the new cabin air filter. This was the weirdest recommendation... :-) See the attached for your reference. Ultimately, this dealership has a big issue with its credibility. It has not improved at all regardless the survey came out time and time to give an impression it cared for its customers. Its misleading practice is deep. More
