Gary Funk and the whole experience exceeded expectations. We had been having our 2010 Ford Escape serviced at several dealerships. One Center we selected as it was close to our home. As such, we needed to find a Ford Service Center where we could take our vehicle. The customer service we received at Ted Britt was exceptional. Indeed, Gary Funk from the moment we arrived took what seemed like personal care of us. He knew we had not been "regulars" but never made us feel disadvantaged. In fact, he worked with us to get the best service. The vehicle was ready on time, the service was well done,and the whole experience was outstanding. I wish we had gone to Ted Britt years ago. We wil be doing so now. Thanks to everyone. More
Prices WAY higher than other Ford Dealer... Highway Robbery When my Ford Escape Hybrid died this weekend, I had it towed it to the nearest Ford dealer...Ted Britt Ford in Fairfax, VA. I usually go to Sheehy in When my Ford Escape Hybrid died this weekend, I had it towed it to the nearest Ford dealer...Ted Britt Ford in Fairfax, VA. I usually go to Sheehy in Springfield, but I figured they were all pretty similar. But I was SO WRONG! When they opened on Monday, a rep from Ted Britt called to tell me they ran a diagnostic test and repairs were gonna be $1,780 total. Only when I asked for a break down did I discover that the cost for the parts was about $680, but the labor was gonna cost me $1,100 ! I asked why so high and I was told it was a complicated fix. In ADDITION to the mechanical work, they also recommended I replace the arm for the suspension control.... and that was gonna be ANOTHER $690 ! I was looking at almost $2,500 total. So, I decided to have my car towed to my USUAL place... the Sheehy Ford in Springfield and within a couple of hours, Ralph from Sheehy had given me an estimate with a very specific breakdown of parts and labor for all things I needed. NOW... I am only paying $500 for all the mechanical repairs (that is parts AND labor total) and an additional $380 to replace the suspension arm. I will NEVER go to Ted Britt Ford again. We set up an appointment with Ted Britt via the online service and we had been in contact with a couple other dealerships and Jenny from Ted Britt was the only person who actually followed up with me to make an appointment. She was extremely helpful, super polite, and wasn't pushy in the least! When we showed up to the dealership it projected a high level of professionalism while still maintaining a wonderfully friendly atmosphere. Upon our arrival, we received a warm greeting outside and were immediately escorted to Al, the marvelous sales associate. Since we knew exactly what we were looking for, Al wasted no time showing us the vehicles and demonstrated a superb working knowledge about the cars. We went for a quick test drive and it went swimmingly! Al even encouraged me to use the Focus's back-up camera and coached me through it! It was a little scary for me to trust the camera but Al's calm demeanor and experience saw us through! He was very helpful as went through the number's process and he was very thorough in explaining the cost and breaking down the financial options before we made our decision. Once we had agreed on a price and filled out our applications, we were introduced to Lauren who helped explain about ResistAll (MONEY WELL SPENT!!) and go over the car options in case there was something we wanted more information about one of the car's features. Finally, we met with the lovely, effervescent Linda who was sweet as peaches! Linda was an absolute dear and Natasha helped make the magic happen! They made what I've been told is a horrendous ordeal into a delightfully pleasant and enjoyable experience. Linda went over the warranty/insurance options and fully explained all the finer details so we could make an informed decision on what we wanted. Then she efficiently covered all the paperwork that was required and was a ray of sunshine on a somewhat rainy day (literally and figuratively)! Linda also made sure to fully explain the total cost of everything so we completely understood the numbers as well as help us choose the best financial option for us. We were also delightfully surprised to find out that Linda was able to register the car and get our plates so there was no need to worry about going to the DMV! And the best part of the entire experience was that everyone had a good, firm handshake! It was refreshing to be greeted with a handshake that was welcoming and shows that they are truly happy to meet you and help you find a fabulous car!! Overall, it was so amazing and went much better than I ever could have hoped for! A huge thank you to the marvelous people who helped us with car buying service as well as all the wonderful people in the background who made it happen! Ted Britt was a wonderful experience and we couldn't have asked for more! More

Poor Customer Service (cut loose after the sale) Over the past 30 days, my salesman misrepresented himself (as did, by association, Ted Britt Ford) numerous times and failed to live up to his word. After I purchased my vehicle, my salesman poorly (i.e., slowly or not at all) executed his commitments (despite more than a dozen reminder phone calls from me). These follow-ups entailed, simply: obtaining the door lock code, and most importantly shipping the licenses plates to my home. When I would get through to him, he would tell me that he would "call me back in 15 minutes", or one time he replied, "hey, it's kinda busy now with month-end, so can you make a note to call me back later". That turned out to be a joke (a cruel joke)! Now I have one day before my temporary tags expire, and yet I still don't have the permanent tags from Ted Britt Ford. Here are some questions going through my head: - Why can't Ted Britt (and their associates) reliability (and quickly) call back customers? - Why can't Ted Britt follow through on commitments? - Why does Ted Britt Ford misrepresent the actual state of affairs? example: saying my plates were being Shipped over night, when they weren't! - How long has my sales person been selling cars? The irony is that when completing the paperwork on the purchase, the finance manager said that I should give my salesman a perfect score on the DealerRater.com otherwise "he wouldn't get the $50 he earned selling me the car!" First, I don't think the finance manager should be telling people how to rate their car buying experience (very unprofessional). Moreover, if my salesman actually earned $50 from my purchase, then that's $50 too much! He should pay me $50 for having to call him so many times with no response. I think he decided to "cut me loose" after the sale. More

To the novice buyer (particularly young people) as an auto buyer you need to be: informed about the vehicle that you want buy and using the internet is a great way to be informed; knowledgeable about the auto buying process and stay practical in your purchase and know when to say 'no'....think with your head and not with your heart....all cars have 4 wheels but the make, model, options and colors can add dollars to a more practical choose....all you need is 4 wheels; and, knowledgeable about the financing process .....get pre-approved by a favorable lender, even though, you may switch lenders at the time of purchase....just remember you need to know what you can afford...and do not become a 'blowout" (i.e., cannot get financing because you were turned down because of a lack of ability to repay your debt, could not afford the monthly payment, bad credit, or whatever)....and again know when to stay 'no' with your head and not your heart. In a life time you will own several vehicles (hopefully Ford) so think smart, and do not become a car dummy. More
Accident during service...still not made whole I have purchased 4 of my last 6 cars from Ted Britt Ford but I will not be going back. Last year after purchasing a brand new Ford Fusion Hybrid (amaz I have purchased 4 of my last 6 cars from Ted Britt Ford but I will not be going back. Last year after purchasing a brand new Ford Fusion Hybrid (amazing car BTW), I was asked to bring my vehicle in for a recall on the SYNC system. During the servicing, a Ted Britt staff was test driving my car and got into an accident damaging the door and quarter panel. Ted Britt's staff including Service dept head Gary Funk assured me that the accident was "not their fault" (though as you can imagine this wasn't all that comforting). I was at least given a loaner vehicle for the 30+ day period that I was without by car. However, I was also told that it was my responsibility to deal with the insurance company of the guy that hit my car while in Ted Britt's possession. No one was rude but no one was willing to stand up and take responsibility to help me either. When I called to talk to Evelyn Akers-Smallwood (General Sales Manager), she said she tried to see what she could do but in the end said that they "didn't intend to get into an accident" with my car and held the company line that they had no official responsibility and could do nothing to help me. Eventually I just got tired of trying to get them to do the right thing. They were absolutely no help to me whatsoever during the ensuing 6 month fight I have had with the insurance company of the guy who hit my car. I have still not received full restitution for the diminished value of my vehicle. In fact I have had to come out of pocket to pay for independent valuations of the damage to even get the insurance company to talk to me about my vehicle's diminished value. Despite the fact that we had a positive buying experience with Marcus Castellanos and the fact that I love my Fusion and Ford cars in general (in fact we are looking to buy an Edge for my wife in the near future), I will not be using Ted Britt again and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else.
