To say my experience with this dealership was baffling and frustrating would be a massive understatement. From dealing with Sam and his inability to act without playing “Mother May I” with his manager to and frustrating would be a massive understatement. From dealing with Sam and his inability to act without playing “Mother May I” with his manager to the shady business practices performed, the whole process was a massive disappointment. Texas Toyota of Grapevine appears to assume that prospective buyers are lacking in intelligence and conduct themselves accordingly. Last Friday, I had a verbal agreement in place with Sam on a vehicle purchase. I asked to place a deposit that day to hold it until the rest of the money could be sourced before closing by the following Friday. Sam instructed me to place the deposit on Monday due to the process "taking too long" to conduct on a Friday afternoon. I agreed and was relieved that things were nearing an end as I had a sale in place on my current vehicle finalized to a private buyer and planned on using that money in the purchase of this car. On Monday morning, I reached out to Sam to place the deposit and was informed that the vehicle had been sold from under me by “someone else” at the dealership to another buyer on Saturday. In an attempt to make a deal happen quickly, I offered to purchase another of the same model vehicle they had available at the same price previously agreed to (the other vehicle was priced slightly higher). This offer was rejected by Sam, who cited that his manager would not allow it. Feeling annoyed and lied to, I decided that would be the end of my communication with this dealership. Later that day, Sam reached back out with what he described as “good news” as the other buyer failed to present the required paperwork for financing and the car was still available should I still want to purchase it. Why anyone would agree to do business with an outfit like this after the prior stunt was pulled is beyond my comprehension. Avoid this place at all costs; zero stars would be a more accurate representation of this experience. P.S. If any managers at this dealership are reading this and planning to reply with the usual copy-and-paste corporatized answer, know that I would rather walk than deal with your dealership even if it were the only one operating in all of Texas. I had a great experience at Grapevine Toyota, and I especially want to recognize my salesman. He was one of the most honest, respectful, and genuine salesmen I’ve ever dealt with. What really stood out to me was that he is a Christian, and you could tell that his faith and character were important to him. He treated me with respect, never pressured me, and was straightforward throughout the entire process. I never felt like I was just another sale or a number. He took the time to answer my questions, work with me, and make sure I was comfortable with everything. In an industry where car buying can sometimes feel stressful, he made the experience easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend him and Grapevine Toyota to anyone looking for a vehicle and wanting to deal with someone who has honesty, integrity, and strong Christian values.
