I got checked in quickly the morning of the appointment, and the work was done in a satisfyingly amount of time (I waited at Starbucks across the street, then in the showroom). There was no pressure to add services, although some of this may have been to the inability to add more work tickets into a busy shop schedule. Anyway, it feels that things are improving.
