What Happened to This Place? I’ve leased my past 3 cars from Babylon Honda, and the first two times had enough of a good experience to come back. But this will ABSOLUTELY be my I’ve leased my past 3 cars from Babylon Honda, and the first two times had enough of a good experience to come back. But this will ABSOLUTELY be my last time. I cannot stress enough how truly awful my experience was, or how lackadaisical, unprofessional and downright incompetent the employees were. It began with the series of emails I began receiving about 4 months prior to my lease ending date, inviting me to come in to make a deal for a new Honda. I responded to every one of them, but never got a reply to set up an appointment. Finally, I called and made an appointment myself. I test drove a new vehicle, and the rep made a ridiculous offer. We spent about half an hour negotiating, but it didn’t work out. The manager came over, (unfortunately, I don’t remember his name) and made a few attempts to reduce the payments, but we weren’t able to come to an agreement. He didn’t seem to be bothered by the fact that I was walking away from the deal, and when I mentioned that I hadn’t initiated the initial contact, that Babylon Honda came to me, that didn’t appear to motivate him to try and make things work out either. I never received any follow up calls or emails until about two months later. I returned with info posted on the Babylon Honda Website for a car that was part of their inventory, which was a very good deal. I waited for about 15 minutes for someone to help me, despite the fact that there were no customers on the sales floor and six different sales reps standing around, joking and laughing with the team at the management window. When I finally got someone to sit down with me, I told him what I was looking for, test drove the same vehicle as before, and said I was interested. He came back with a number that was not only nearly 200 dollars higher per month than the one advertised on the website, it was 100 dollars higher than the original number for the same car from two months ago. I then told him about the deal I had seen on the Babylon Honda website. I was informed that the car I had seen didn’t exist, as it was impossible for that car to be available at the advertised price. He seemed to think I had made it up. When I protested, the Manager came over, and, in a very condescending manner, ‘explained’ why there could not be a car like the one I had seen. I insisted they look it up on their computer. After about 10 minutes of appearing to not be able to find the car I referred to, I finally found it for them. They conferred in a corner, privately, and when the sales rep returned, he said that car had been sold. I said I would be willing to negotiate, for whichever, because there was such a huge discrepancy between the numbers he gave me and the one advertised. I was then told that the advertised price was a mistake, caused by the woman who programmed the website. They fixed it while I was there. We continued to negotiate, and after some time, (and more condescension from the manager) we agreed on a number and made a deal. I made an appointment to pick up the vehicle three days later. I returned at the appointed time, the dealership was, once again, empty, and it took some time before my sales rep appeared. He seemed surprised to see me. When I told him I was there to pick up my vehicle, he seemed confused, and I showed him my paperwork indicating the appointed time, and he went to ‘Bring the car up.’ I waited an hour and a half. No explanation, no apology, whenever I would inquire about what was happening, I was told that they were ‘Very busy.’ There were only two other customers on the floor the entire time I was there. The car was finally brought up, the plates were taken off my old Honda, attached to the new one, (which was not the one I had test driven as this one had a grey interior and it was not explained to me why this vehicle’s interior was different, but, at that point, I just wanted to take my car and go home.) The sales rep gave me ONE set of keys. When I asked about the second set, he, again, looked confused, and then, at my insistence, attempted to locate them. After another 45 minutes of waiting, he informed me he could not find them, but I would get a call ‘In a few days’ to get another set programmed. That was more than a month ago. Despite my calling each week since, and promises that I would get the call, I still do not have the second set of keys. I drove the car home, without any demonstration By the Sales Rep of the vehicle’s features, as I have every other time I have leased a Honda. My experiences with the service department have been first rate, but I fear I will now have the same kind of experience as I received on the sales floor, as it is obviously under new management.. To say this was a disappointment is an understatement. I am left with such a poor impression of Babylon Honda that, in addition to never giving them my business again, I am actually considering switching my loyalty to Honda, and lease all future vehicles from Toyota or Nissan. More
I had a pleasant experience at The New Babylon Honda dealership. The salesman Rodney Hassell and his manager Ron were very friendly, informative and patient with me. This was my 1st time buying a car and they were more then willing to help me step by step. They had no problem answering every little and repetitive questions I could throw at them. Any little mix up or mistakes on the paperwork, they fixed right away. They are also very trusting too. I was able to test drive the car by myself. Out of all my research and shopping at other dealerships, The New Babylon Honda gave me the best deal. There is no B.S. with them, if you want to buy a car then they will sell you a car and work with you. I give them a 10 out of 10, and would recommend to a friend. Thanks guys. More
