WARNING: Sales Reps Just modern day Swindlers!!! DO NOT PURCHASE USED CARS FROM TOM PEACOCK in TEXAS!!! I purchased a used Volkswagon Passat thru this dealership with 89000 miles for $8000. The ext NOT PURCHASE USED CARS FROM TOM PEACOCK in TEXAS!!! I purchased a used Volkswagon Passat thru this dealership with 89000 miles for $8000. The exterior of the vehicle was in normal shape for a car 6 years old. Interior ok and normal except for baby puke on the backseat carpet. The real problem was the heart of the car, its engine. After driving the car for 100 miles the check engine light comes on (steady, not blinking) and upon starting the car cold there is a rattling noise. Taking the car to VW service it was found thru OBDII check that the timing chain was out by 9 teeth and the tensioner was on its last thread. One more thread then the timing chain will derail and catastrophic failure will occur rendering the motor innoperable. After the $2700 repair cost to replace the timing chain components, there was an additional finding. The CAM Phaser and all relating components needed replacing due to depeated oil circulation from oil sludge. This repair costs an additional $2700. After contacting and speaking with the Sales Manager "Armondo" he mentioned and stated, "Sorry man, you bought the car with no Warranty. Its expected to put money and repairs into a used car. Its just the way it is." So basically, instead of conducting a simple OBDII check to find the obvious coding problems, they just recirculate and make money from junk cars. There are two problems here folks. TOM PECOCKS Sales reps sold a car under false advertisement, stating the car was in good condition. And second and most important...SAFETY: NO proper safety diagnosis or check done on the car. Both of which against Texas law. More

Service advisor and his associates are always professional and ready to complete the repairs in a professional manner. Only issue is this is my THIRD battery issue that has been ongoing. Not sure, if it’s the quality of the battery by Nissan installed but always resulting in severe corrosion. I Will need follow-up w/ a better repair plan as the last 2 have FAILED. I did not replace the battery, yet till we can agree on a quality battery to be replaced. As I would have expected a quality battery and parts replaced to have been of quality the last time as Issues returning as the 1st. Not normal for the age, mileage or model of vehicle. I noticed it as window starts going down automatically and it indicates battery 🔋 issues, again. Dangerous when shopping to return to vehicle with its windows down. More
