This is the place that gives dealership bad reputations. Kyle Christensen and his team make empty promises, excuses, and if they make a deal there is no after sale customer service. My son bought a used truck, completed understand “as is” but we drove it home at 6pm and when he was driving home which is 10 miles from the dealership the Check engine light comes on and the blinker starts blinking super fast. Take it the next morning when they open and I send an email to Kyle (he never responded) to Ella in the situation. After 2 weeks of no phone calls or follow ups, we’ve had to call them every time, they would say oh yeah we’ll call you back and nothing. The only call we got was that it’s was ready. They felt like they did us a favor when we had a warranty to cover the repairs. After promising to fix the blinker they decided that they weren’t going to do that. They promised to detail the truck because it wasn’t detailed when it was delivered the first time. When we went to pick it up it was only hand washed and the fuel was empty. Met with Kyle and he said well you know we don’t make grosses on cars anymore and we lose about 80k a month in the front end so that’s why we can’t do anything. The then tried to throw his salesman under the bus saying it’s all his fault but the poor kid only worked at the dealership for 3 weeks. Kyle is in charge or at least says he is and he takes no responsibility for his team. All we wanted was my sons truck to be fixed to what they promised they would fix, have it detailed and fueled up. Kyle offered in store credit of $500 but made sure to tell me the sales department is the biggest customer of the parts and service department and they will up charge me like 200% so it’s better just to go somewhere else or go on Amazon. At the end of the meeting I was so unimpressed and disappointed that Ron Tonkin (Gee Automotive) would allow they’re dealership to be run by someone so incompetent with no situational awareness and customer service skills. Telling me that you don’t make money selling cars is not an excuse or even something an owner would want their manager to talk about. Dealerships make a killing on, pre-installed sealants, warranties, rate on interest rates, manufactures incentives. I’d be careful about buying from this establishment as long as Kyle Christensen is in charge, your guaranteed to have one of those sleazy experience all dealership have been trying to get away from. More

Cheryl and team at Tonkin Chevrolet in Hillsborough did an excellent job for us. They got my truck in diagnosed off the rack in less than a week with transmission troubles when I went in. I have bought 6 new vehicles in my life and dreaded going to a dealer and get upsold or downsold. I visited 6 other Chevrolet Dealers before visiting Tonkin Dealer in Hillsboro and walked away from 3 in tota to a dealer and get upsold or downsold. I visited 6 other Chevrolet Dealers before visiting Tonkin Dealer in Hillsboro and walked away from 3 in total disgust. Lies, deceit and total lack of integrity I encountered. I was supposed to meet with another associate who was absent when I arrived, but Jose stepped up to the plate and listened to what I wanted and helped through all phases of the sale. He is understanding, compassionate, confident and very professional with his business. I believe this dealership has raised the bar with Jose and they are lucky to have him as a salesman. More

In the end, they reduces the sale price and the cost of the finish, so it worked out OK. I was hoping to avoid this type of price negotiation. The Car also qualifies for the $4000 federal tax credit for used EVs, and we discussed that, but I have nothing (yet) from the dealership verifying that qualification or the required reporting to the IRS within three days. More
