We recently bought a used Toyota Highlander from ToB. No problem with John, the salesman, but they slapped on a $700 "Theft Prevention" fee at the very end of a long afternoon of waiting around as we we No problem with John, the salesman, but they slapped on a $700 "Theft Prevention" fee at the very end of a long afternoon of waiting around as we were signing papers. I objected. None of this was discussed or disclosed during negotiations. So they put a sticker on the car and engrave the VIN on a few places. I have theft insurance. I did not want it or need it. I find this grossly unfair and have reported it to the attorney general's office. If you experienced this same slippery move, I encourage you to do the same. More
