When we went to purchase a Tacoma for our daughter and son-in-law, we talked with them frequently over the phone, describing what was available on the truck, etc. When it came time to finalize the deal, we expected to be on the line with Carl and Allison. Then we were told that Travis was on the phone with Carl "doing the paper work". Instead, the final cost was around $4,000 more than expected. I was taken back and too surprised to react. This was for an extended warrantee and extra paint protection. I never had a chance to discuss it with Carl - this was done privately between Carl and Travis, yet I'm the one signing the check. I feel that my wife and I were excluded from the discussion because we would have questioned the wisdom of these extra purchases. Perhaps, Travis and Jordan discussed this. Perhaps, this is commonly done in auto dealers when the final deal is signed - spring something on the buyer at the last minute. When I asked Jordan what extras could be added on at the dealer, while we were still in the lot, the extra paint protection was not mentioned. I feel the sales people - and possibly the dealership - took unfair advance of us and the situation. We never had a chance to discuss these purchases with our daughter and son-in-law.
