My appt started with higher pricing for an oil change and a longer wait due to a recall. Left my vehicle. After picking up my vehicle, the airbag sensor that was to be replaced started beeping nonstop. I had to take my vehicle back the next day and wait an additional hour for the fix. In addition, a 12lb weighted exercise vest went missing from my backseat. The Toyota dealership and home were the only places I went between the maintenance and repair jobs. The intake customer service lady, was very nice and helpful with the beeping sensor issue. More

I much rather take it to an outside independent repair shop especially people that I'm familiar with. But in this situation I had to take my Tundra to West Mobile Toyota. Honestly, the pricing really wasn't much different than the second estimate that I got plus they already had my truck in the shop. Long story short they did the repairs and they did cut me a deal because the repairs ended up being more excessive than what they originally quoted which I kind of expected anyways. The problem that I have was that when I got home I noticed that my mode actuator wasn't working. And for those that don't know, that module controls the flaps inside your AC unit that directs the airflow. I called my service advisor at Toyota and told him that his technician probably didn't plug something up and that's why it's not working. When I dropped the truck back off I told him the first thing they need to do is to check and make sure everything was plugged up. I got a call this morning and they said that my mode actuator is broke and that I needed to replace it. It's probably a $200 part plus labor. All said and done he said it's probably going to be another $1,000 to fix it. I asked him again if the technician check the wiring harness to make sure everything was plugged up and he told me that they put it on a diagnostic machine and it showed a fault for that particular part. I told him it's going to show a fault if it's not plugged up and I wanted them to physically check and see. He basically told me they did everything they were supposed to do and it's verified that that part is bad. I told him I'm not paying another $1,000 for a part that wasn't broke before I dropped the truck off the first time. I got the truck home and watched a short YouTube video. A 4-minute video and 10 seconds to push in a lose connetion fixed the problem. The guy that worked on my truck was supposed to be a master tech... People rely so much on computer diagnostic and not simple things like checking connections. It would have cost me another $1,000 for a fix on a problem their technician caused. This is why I have trust issues with dealerships and why so many others do as well. More
I have previously purchased two vehicles from Palmer's Toyota and received outstanding customer service. Based on those positive experiences, I expected the same level of professionalism and quality from Toyota and received outstanding customer service. Based on those positive experiences, I expected the same level of professionalism and quality from Toyota West. Unfortunately, this has been the worst vehicle purchasing and service experience I have ever encountered. I purchased this Certified Pre-Owned vehicle on May 30, 2026. On my drive home from the dealership that same day, I discovered that the infotainment system was not functioning properly. I immediately contacted my salesperson and was assured there was nothing to worry about and that the issue could be addressed by the service department. Between May 30 and July 30, I returned the vehicle to the dealership nine (9) separate times for service. Each visit required me to take time away from work, resulting in lost wages, inconvenience, and significant frustration. Despite these repeated repair attempts, the infotainment system continued to malfunction, including during my final service visit. Diagnostic Charge Dispute When I arrived for my scheduled infotainment display replacement, I informed the service advisor that the Check Engine Light had illuminated and that multiple warning messages had appeared on the dashboard. I was told that I would be responsible for a $189 diagnostic fee. I explained that the vehicle had experienced unresolved mechanical and electrical problems almost immediately after purchase and that I should not be expected to pay diagnostic charges for issues arising within days of purchasing a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. Under those circumstances, I declined to authorize the diagnostic fee. Because of the numerous warning messages and my concerns about the vehicle's safety and reliability, I contacted my salesperson once again. Certified Pre-Owned Inspection Concerns Throughout this process, I repeatedly requested a copy of the Certified Pre-Owned inspection report but was not provided one until after I questioned the dealership about the vehicle's condition and the repairs being recommended. Service Manager Ron Lancon later informed me that I was responsible for the repairs because the wiring damage was allegedly caused by rodents after I purchased the vehicle. He stated that if a rodent nest had been present before the sale, it would have been discovered during the Certified Pre-Owned inspection. I respectfully disagree with that conclusion. The vehicle was driven regularly and was never left sitting unused for extended periods. In addition, my property has several feral cats that routinely remain around and underneath my vehicles, making recent rodent activity less likely. The photographs of the nest appear to show an older, abandoned nest rather than evidence of recent activity. While I understand that rodent damage can occur, I do not believe the dealership has provided sufficient evidence to establish that the damage occurred while the vehicle was in my possession. Given that this was a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle that had exhibited multiple problems from the first day of ownership, I do not believe I should have been held financially responsible for replacing the wiring harness. Despite purchasing a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle that was represented as having undergone a comprehensive inspection, I was ultimately charged $881 for a wiring harness. After experiencing repeated defects from the day of purchase, nine service visits in two months, and continuing unresolved issues, I find this outcome both unreasonable and unacceptable. After this experience, I have lost confidence in Toyota West's commitment to customer service and standing behind the vehicles it sells. From the very first day of ownership, I experienced repeated defects, multiple unsuccessful repair attempts, unexpected repair charges, and ongoing inconvenience. This experience has fallen far short of the standards I expected when purchasing a Certified Pre-Owned Toyota. More
