Returned home and contacted Ann Arbor Toyota where I have purchased this Prius and 2 other Toyotas. I usually go to another auto repair because of the poor reputation and high cost of service here. It is $282 just to drive thru the door. Left the car and was called 1 hour later and told they needed to replace sensor and unfortunately sensor "embedded" in the bearing (not true, sensor is in the hub). They quoted $1102 and enhanced how dangerous it would be not to get it done if wheels lock up because traction sensor not reporting. I ask them to get the price down and Terrence kept telling me "I gotcha". Job completed in less than 2 hours, and they "found" a $100 coupon to apply. They also wanted to do an oil change (done in 11/2023 and only 1300 miles added since change) and a tire rotation which I was told should have been part of the $1102 if they changed a wheel bearing. I declined both because I cannot afford this kind of scam. After speaking with Toyota Corporate I was asked if they just tried cleaning the sensor, no they did not. They asked if the parts were returned, no they were not. Advised to call dealership and request parts. Transferred to Terrence and he kept running a bunch of nonsense telling me there is no law they have to return and that I should have asked and recycle picks up weekly, so they are probably gone. Said he would look and call me right back. 24 hours later no call. I spoke with a neighbor who has a Toyota and says he never uses Dunning due to this sleezy behavior. He also said he would bet his paycheck that they only cleaned the sensor and never replaced because they are incapable of telling the truth. Posted on my neighborhood sight and 74 replies all negative about peoples experience with Dunning/Toyota of Ann Arbor. I am looking at a new purchase and going to Honda. More

Update- since my review I did get a call with an update, The part is on back order, so maybe the end of July they will have it. While I am not happy to hear that, at least I know where I stand. Toyota as a The part is on back order, so maybe the end of July they will have it. While I am not happy to hear that, at least I know where I stand. Toyota as a whole, not the dealership, has not stood behind this vehicle. I am expecting Toyota of AA to stay on top of this and also keep me updated. I have called repeated for an update on my new 2023 vehicle that has never been right - first appt. was on 4/12. I last picked it up 5/17 after being there another 2 weeks. I was told then the part will come in a couple weeks. Now 6/14, no updates and no one returns my call s. Every call goes to "leave a message and we will return your call". After 5 or 6 calls i may get a call back. I thought Toyota would be a quality vehicle with reputable dealerships. I'm frustrated they have not corrected this defect in a timely manner. More
I have used Ann Arbor Toyota formerly Dunning for service for 10 years. At my last service I asked for the estimate and was told I would get the receipt when the service was done.I realized that the estimat for 10 years. At my last service I asked for the estimate and was told I would get the receipt when the service was done.I realized that the estimate was high but I did not pursue it, I was charged for service I did no t request. Very Shady..Michigan law requires a written estimate be given to customer not just signed. Extra service was neither required nor recommended by Toyuta Manufacture. More
