Lost my trust and confidence I want to be clear up front that my disappointing experiences have been within the service department ... not sales! I also want to state that the service manager stepped in both times to rectify my issues and I appreciate that but ..... my issues should have never gone that far. This is going to be a novel because I want to be thorough.... I own 2 Lexus vehicles and a Camry .... none of which I bought at Ron Hibbard Toyota in Gallatin, TN. I use the service department to maintain them because I like to support businesses in my area and it's most convenient. The closest Lexus dealer is much more difficult to get to. I am very patient and understanding when they cannot service my Lexus vehicles due to parts needing to be ordered, etc., but the length of time they kept my car for repairs is unbelievable (I have a back-up vehicle so I'm patient) The first service on my 2010 Lexus LS 460 was for a front brake job .... replace pads / turn rotors .... I do this myself on 2 other vehicles in my amateur garage and it takes me around 3 hours. It took over 4 weeks and 3 trips back to the service department at Ron Hibbard Toyota to finally get the car .... remind you this is only for brake pads & rotate rotors. Now for my second service experience .... yes I went back ... I believe in second chances...I've been given plenty in life! Same car several months later overheats one day while on interstate .... too the point of emergency light coming on saying pull over immediately. After letting it cool down I limped my way to Ron Hibbard Toyota to drop it off. Since I was also not getting heat my amateur diagnosis was water pump but I was wrong .... probably why I'm not a mechanic. Over the next few days the service department deemed it was a plate leak under the intake. The fix was to re-seal plate and replace O-Rings on tube. It was stated they had to order sealant and O-Rings .... I said ok lets get it done. Now, when I first dropped the car off, I told the service writer that I have an extended warranty but have never used it. Asked if I needed to contact them or will they to figure out coverage and payment ... reply "no Sir, we'll take care of it .... deal with them all the time." ****14 Days LATER**** I finally get my car but that's not the biggest issue. The first call I received telling me it was ready was on a Friday afternoon .... awesome, I'll be right there to pick it up .... how much is it I ask? Response .... $750 and some change. OK and want about the warranty, did you call them? Uh, yeah, Uh .... they won't cover it. Uh, um ... they said because it was a sealant and not a part that this would not be covered.... service writer continues to stumble through the explanation on the phone. I'm not stupid, I realize at that point I'm being lied to .... but I told him, OK ... I'll come down pay for it and then I'll call the warranty company myself to handle. Hang-up ... go upstairs to change clothes, come back down and I missed a call from Ron Hibbard Toyota service department on my cell. Called them back ... service writer says hey ... talked to my service manager and we feel like we need to explain it a little differently to the warranty company so if you can wait until Monday we can probably save you some money. I said sounds good (remember I'm patient) .... no call Monday and I had already figured out something stinks from the first phone call with the service writer where he danced around my question about calling the warranty company so... YEP ... Tuesday, I picked up the phone and call the warranty company. After questioning the service agent several times, he confirmed nobody has ever contacted them about my vehicle ... I asked again... "are you absolutely sure?" ... he said yes Sir, we have to document ALL calls and list repairs performed ... nobody has ever called us from Ron Hibbard Toyota in Gallatin, TN about your car. I hung up the phone, called the service department, spoke to the manager and told him my saga. He said give me a few hours to dive in and figure this out. A few hours later ... Service Manager calls ....Sir, your car is ready for pick-up and the warranty company covered everything, you only have a $100 deductible (which I knew about) .... When I arrive the total bill had changed from $750 to $266 (?) I paid my deductible .... got in my car immediately and drove away, NEVER to return to Ron Hibbard Toyota in Gallatin, TN. I get mistakes .... but the reason I laid out such a long story is so that you can determine on your own if this is a place you want to get service from. From my first experience with the brakes, I question their competence and from my second, I question their integrity .... you be the judge and make your own decision. To Mr. Ron Hibbard - your service manager is the only reason I didn't demand to see you at that moment and the fact that I'm just done with your place. He took care of me and I thanked him for that but Sir, you need to spend some time in your Service Department. I commend you for the amount of time you spend there on the sales floor .... your commercials are accurate but the service department is where your customers will decide on their loyalty to you ..... experience after the sale is where its at. Chris Clouse was not working the day I went to the dealership (last Thursday), so Chris Clouse referred me to Chris Schorsch. I came to Toyota to look at cars last week. I wasn't particularly going to buy one that day, I just wanted to see what was out there. Chris asked up front what I liked and I told him I was picky and I knew exactly what I wanted. His exact words were "I have the car for you". He took me to a beautiful Camry 2014.5. He said lets take it for a spin. After I drove it I knew I had to have it. I have drove a Honda for 5 and half years and this car I fell in love with! Chris was very up beat and non pushy! He was honest and tried his hardest to get everything I wanted and for me to be happy. I was very pleased with the Ron Hibbard Toyota and the way Chris presented himself. He made buying this car memorable. Chris and my husband secretly put a bow on the car and had it sitting right when I walk out the door. I give Chris Schorsch and Ron Hibbard a 5/5!! Thank you so much for being so good to me! More
