Excellent Customer Service As a returning customer to Halterman's Toyota, I traded in my 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Limited in hopes to purchase a new car. I was introduced to Sa As a returning customer to Halterman's Toyota, I traded in my 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Limited in hopes to purchase a new car. I was introduced to Sales Consultant Eric McNicholas, who was very personable from the start. Eric asked the standard questions " What type of vehicle I was interested in", "Was there certain features in a car I wanted", Color preference of vehicle etc. We then walked to my Subaru so he could do his standard procedure in looking over my trade in car. Eric was very easy to talk to, listened to what I had to say about choice of cars He was as well very patient with me as I tried to understand the way car buying works. . With the finance part of purchasing a vehicle he ensured me I would get an excellent deal. I trusted him that I would leave with a new car. In the end I purchase a 2016 Black Toyota Corolla Sport, and I would not have done it without Eric's professional help. Eric had excellent negotiation skills that made my car buying experience a success. Eric is an outstanding sales consultant that I would recommend anyone who was looking to purchase a car to see. We returned in early 2016 and bought a 2015 RAV4 Limited. Our experience was even better......worked with Eric and Roger from the management team and our salesperson, Karrie Riggi was exceptional. With this being our first experience with some of the new technology available now on Toyotas, she was enormously patient with this senior citizen! SO very appreciated. Her professionalism and her kindness were wonderful......a truly enjoyable experience. Am guessing we will be returning again in five years to purchase another car! More

I was disappointed, but Matt immediately said that he would take care of it, and the next business day I received all weather floor mats, as promised. This is the 3rd vehicle that we have purchased from Haltermans, and we would certainly return for #4! More

Their "Meet and/or beat policy" was not upheld, TWICE Round 1: I made an appointment (March-April 2015) to visit this dealer being that I live over 100 miles away. My wife and I had already researched th Round 1: I made an appointment (March-April 2015) to visit this dealer being that I live over 100 miles away. My wife and I had already researched the vehicle we were interested and received USAA, AAA, and Costco certificates and printouts. I understand membership perks but never start from the MSRP and negotiate down because there are dealer incentives, holdbacks, as well as "fees" when purchasing a vehicle. I made it clear on the phone had other certified offers with no hidden costs and the out the door cost was true. Halterman's pushed their "Meet or beat policy" but when I arrived there it was a complete 180. The floor sales manager kept pretending to look at the prices and kept saying "I see what they are doing" and insisted he show me by taking a piece of paper and writing down arbitrary numbers. He then matched the price but when said "we need to add delivery, and this and that...". I called one of the dealers that issued the certificate and verified that the price i had on the certificate was indeed out the door cost and he said yes. I left Halterman's and went to pick up the vehicle for $2,300.00 less. I worked with Chuck originally who was an overall nice guy but his floor manager was your typical used-car salesman. Round 2: I used their live chat via website (Jan 2016) and wanted a laugh so I was connected with Gwen. I just wanted a price of a different Toyota. I don't want to talk to you on the phone, if I wanted to hear your voice or have you hear mine, I would have called. I do not want to come in and waste my time, so stop bugging me to come in. I just wanted to know a price of the 4runner and was just annoyed buy the persistence of "what is your phone number we can call you" and "why don't you come on in". After trying to request a firm price to simply negotiate - she gave me the MSRP of the vehicle and I asked about the prices of other competitors and she stated the "meet or beat policy". When I brought up the previous experience she said "why don't you come in". Do your research, take advantage of membership no-haggle auto buying programs, and make the drive to a place that will value you as a customer. This place is concerned about their volume of vehicles, not the people trying to buy a vehicle. I do understand that a profit needs to be made but you don't have to try and take advantage of me. If the programs I used that gave me a certified price and I did end up buying it for that exact price - Halterman's would have taken more than $2,000 of my hard-earned money. I understand attitudes are everything but do not forget that there is an exchange of funds for goods. Yes you can be friendly but ultimately I am not purchasing your friendship, I am giving your more than $20,000.00 for a vehicle. Prices are set almost everywhere else when we desire goods; we go to Target, Walmart, (insert store here), and know the set price. Commodities operate differently due to supply and demand, not to bore you with economics, but I am purchasing a product from you. More
Quick and not stressful Halterman's did not stress me out trying to buy a vehicle which was nice for a change. However, the reason I gave them 3 stars is because when I called about the used vehicle that I was looking at online, I asked why such low miles and why the lower price. The person told me it was driven by their manager and wasn't owned by any one else. Well, that was a lie. I first found this out when I asked the actual salesman I was working with and he stated that this vehicle was sent to them from another dealer. The reason I asked was because he told me they had just received it on their lot. That was fishy to me because cargurus.com showed it being on their website through Halterman's for 90 days. All of it didn't make sense and they said what they had to in order to get me up there knowing I lived 80 miles away. Also, there was quite a bit of haggle when it came to my trade in. They knew and I knew that the vehicle I was trading would be able to be put on the lot for $42k-$45k and they also knew I already had an offer from another dealer for $35.5k. I thoroughly informed them that I would not do the deal unless they gave me that. I told them that before making the trip and they told me on the phone they were confident they could get me that price. When I got there, they offered me $29k........I became very impatient at that point, the salesman grabbed the manager, the finance manager came over and offered $34k. Explained impatiently again, I already told them the price I was offered at another dealership and was told to come to their dealership because they could probably match the price. He then looked at me and gave me a line I'm sure he's given before: "We do what's right for our customers and we don't want to lose any customers....we're here for you" as he finally offered me the $35.5k. However, the salesman Mike that I was working with was not pushy, very informative and helped tremendously. I also later found out that the person I spoke with on the phone that told me they could probably match my trade in was not a salesman and had no right in giving me that information. More
