Dear Customer, We appreciate your feedback which gives us the opportunity to improve our customer service. In the case mentioned here, most warranties and service contracts do include the diagnostic fee, however some do not. Customers are advised they would possibly be responsible for paying the diagnostic fee related to inspection of their vehicle if the cause of their concern is not covered under the terms of their warranty or service contract. If the warranty or service contract does cover the issue, the diagnostic fee is waived and the work completed. I would need more information in regards to your specific case to give you the reason as to what happened in your case, so for now I can only speculate. Say for example, your vehicle needed a new fuel pump, and your warranty covers the work, but the pump is on backorder. You then decide to take your vehicle somewhere else, the mechanic that inspected your car did perform a diagnostic to identify the problem, and therefore there would be a cost associated with this case. By you taking your vehicle somewhere else, a claim cannot be filed with the warranty company since the work was not completed. This is an example as to how a customer with a warranty can be charged a diagnostic fee. Richard Aquino General Manager Trinity Cadillac
