I dealt with Nic Hardwick. Great experience. He was no-nonsense and no hassle; an approach I appreciated. He also offered various warranties and even discussed the pro's and cons of each. He is a pro More

TruWorth Auto participates in the DealerRater Certified Dealer Program. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us, and through this program we have the opportunity to work with you to resolve any issues with your experience at our dealership The first issue you had mentioned is that you had expected to negotiate your price down, as you do at most dealerships. Our way of communicating that we do not haggle is saying that “Our price + sales tax = what you pay.” We had thought that this communicated a set price and sales tax, free of the dealer fees that most dealerships impose on the customer. Most people seem to understand this, but we will be changing our vehicle descriptions to make it even more clear that this is the case. We can understand how it may not be 100% clear, and we are going to make sure that we make it crystal clear. We certainly did not want to be deceptive. In almost all retail establishments in the world, you walk in and pay the stated price for the good. We are still a growing company, and we’re always trying to find new ways to better communicate with customers. The second issue you mentioned is that you believe that the sales person dropping the price may have assuaged the situation. They do not have the ability to do this, much like someone at a retail store cannot drop the sticker price. Because we do not charge as much for individual cars, that margin becomes much more important to maintaining a profitable business model. Dropping the price is simply not a viable option for us, and that goes back to the first point. We will be rewriting our descriptive merchandising process to ensure that this is crystal clear. The third issue you had mentioned is the tree sap on the vehicle, as it was parked under a tree. Let’s be honest: we have a small lot compared to most dealerships. We are constantly having to find new ways to fit our cars on the lot. It is unfortunate, you are right. Those trees really need to be cut down, and we are working with the owner of the property to do just that (we can’t do it without his consent). We hope to have them down by the end of this year. We did try to fix the situation by cleaning the car, but it appears as though our detail department did not do as well as they should have. We wanted to let you know that those are all valid concerns. We also wanted you to know that we are still growing and trying to get to where we want to be. It is an ongoing process, and insights like this are invaluable in letting us know exactly where we can improve. Thank you for your time and concerns!

We wanted to offer you the ability to bring your car in to have it re-detailed but noticed that you did come from out of town. If you are interested in getting it re-detailed we will be happy to send you a check to use to get that done in your area! Just let us know!

I appreciate you responding to my concerns. Firstly, I can see how many Americans would understand the saying about our price being what you pay, but since I didn't, I imagine there are others who wouldn't get it either. I think since you are a new business model that is totally different than the norm, you have to be explicit in that area. I see that you are not trying to be deceptive and will alter my original review when I see that your advertising has changed. I would suggest adding something like, "We do not negotiate prices, nor do we charge any additional fees, it truly is simply the price is what you pay + taxes". That would have made it clear to me. Regarding the second point, I think that I did not feel valued as a customer. At Kroger, we have the 'Customer 1st Strategy' that has four keys all revolving around the customer feeling and being valued. Our goal is that when the customer leaves the door, even if they had a bad experience due to something we could or could not control, they at least feel that we care about them and that they are valuable to the associate and the business. This in turn, would hopefully make them want to return. And that is a strategy for customers that are spending much less money in one sitting than at a high end used car dealership. I honestly left that day feeling like another cog in the wheel that existed merely to provide nothing but profit. I did not feel valued at all, nor did I feel that you cared. Understanding now that you cannot lower the price, some ideas that would have helped me feel valued would have been simply offering to pay the fuel costs for coming there since I did not have my expectations met, or coming out after the purchase was complete and checking the vehicle for sap and making the offer you did at the end of your response. Just that little extra attention and care that costs you pennies on the dollar and a little time would have gone a long way in my overall experience and would have likely made me want to come back and refer others. In all relationships, business or otherwise, when there is a misunderstanding, there must be some give and take or one party will end up quite unhappy. To the final point, I am glad you are getting rid of the trees and can understand your space issue. I highly recommend you do not keep cloth top vehicles under those trees in the meantime. I was able to get most sap off the paint finish myself, but the cloth is another story. I took the top off the other day and got sap all over my hands. If you have ever dealt with sap, it is not the easiest stuff to get off and you can't touch anything else or it spreads. Quite frankly, it is a mess. I would greatly appreciate a check for re-detailing since taking the top off and being able to take the top off is a major reason why I purchased this particular Jeep. That offer does make me believe you truly do want to improve and do value the customer. Thank you for your time in responding directly to my specific concerns. I really do like your business model and hope you are successful.

Wanted to give you an update on your detail check! It will actually be going out Monday the 30th. According to Tanya our finance lady, the ones who handles these kinds of check, says this is simply due to the normal schedule in which checks are processed, created and sent out!
