Scott, the GM, is a FAILURE as a supervisor (while he may be “successful” in selling autos); in terms of not handling customer service issues! He has others deal with the problems created by his staff, instead of personally addressing customer complaints (after seeing that I was incensed, beyond angry, and after talking to the guy that test-drove my previous vehicle (a manager??), some guy comes over who, never spoke to me the three days I was in the lobby, asked if there was anything he could do; I asked if he was a manager, he said no; that he had 7 years’ selling experience…BIG DEAL! HE WASN’T A MANAGER, HE COULDN’T DO A THING!!!!)! If your “business model” is so much better than your competitors, why do your locations treat customers as your competitors treat theirs?!? Dealing with "Mannie" at the Carmel lot, it actually started when I first called to see about TWA "buying" my SUV: he got my name wrong and gave directions as if I knew where the lot is located (which I didn't). If your people are getting "cute" with the truth (if not telling outright lies), and do it with impunity, why would you feel a need to "improve"?! For instance, "Mannie" is just as soulless as a side lot salesman, told me to disregard the fact that the VIN# on the white Buyer's sheet in the window and on the website, was different than ON THE VEHICLE ITSELF (off by only 2 digits), and to just take it to the BMV and insurance company?!?! And when my insurance office asked for the correct VIN to be corrected on all of the paperwork, the sale rep kept texting me for the VIN # on the vehicle (WHICH WAS LOCATED ON 8 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS), WHICH THEY ALREADY HAD NOT ONLY SINCE THEY OBTAINED THE VEHICLE MONTHS AGO, BUT WHEN I TOLD THE REP ABOUT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PROCESS, DISMISSED IT WITH A MATTER-OF-FACT, WEAK "SOMEONE ENTERED THE VIN WRONG AND IT'S DIFFICULT TO CHANGE...?!?!" The woman, who said she was the one in charge of the titles, came out and told me that my vehicle was in an accident and the body parts were changed, thus the VIN# change; this is curious, because I walked her around the vehicle and showed her the aforementioned 8 KNONW LOCATIONS OF THE VIN#: under the windshield, on the driver-side door jam, all the doors, the hatchback; and under the hood itself. This is when she became PASSIVE-DEFENSIVE: she kept saying that while she acknowledged they made a mistake, she spent more time stating that “we’re human!” Or, throughout the process, this guy wearing a black jacket, would speak but NEVER, NOT ONCE, INTRODUCED HIMSELF AND ONLY AFTER DAYS OF DEALING WITH THEM, DID I FIND OUT THAT IT WAS THE SALES MANAGER, AND THE ONLY WAY I KNEW FOR SURE WHO HE WAS IS WHEN HE HANDED ME HIS CARD BEFORE I WALKED OUT….MANNIE AND THE SALES MANAGER WHO NEVER INTRODUCED HIMSELF AT ANY POINT THROUGH THE PROCESS, MADE MY "CAR-BUYING EXPERIENCE" TERRIBLE AND THEY AND THEIR COHORTS LAUGHED!!!
