The problem I was experiencing was that the truck wouldn't shift out of first gear when in drive and moving from a stop. I thought bringing my F250 to a Ford Dealer in this case seemed like the best bet for a quick resolution. My reasoning for POOR service: First, no call back with a diagnosis after having my vehicle two full working days...excuse given was the original service rep. was out (so no one else can place a call?). Second, couldn't replicate the problem I was experiencing...Ok, I can understand that some problems can be like this, but I've heard this excuse just about every time I've brought a vehicle in with a problem to Truck City. Over the years this has included a 1998 F150, a 2007 Mercury Milan, and a 2017 Ford Flex...so no, I am not overstating things. Third, overcharged for the service I received...technician couldn't find the problem I was experiencing but found a potentially related problem with the brake switch. The end result is I paid over $800 for to get a brake switch replaced. I find out after consenting to the repair I was told by a person more knowledgeable about mechanical things such as this that I had been taken advantage of, and that at most this is a $30 part that should take less than 10 minutes to replace. I suppose there was a lot of "diagnostic time" rolled into this repair. Fourth, during the test drive following the brake switch repair the technician supposedly experienced the original problem I reported with the transmission. So the recommendation from the service rep. was to replace the whole transmission due to age of the truck and this was the best course of action with problems such as this. So, after violating my trust on the brake switch you want me to believe that you need to replace the whole transmission (for almost $8,000) because of an problem you couldn't "replicate" until the final test drive and you all had the truck for almost a week? Hahahahaha! Summary for Truck City Ford Service Department: INCOMPETENT, perhaps. DISHONEST, maybe. POOR SERVICE without a doubt. CONSISTANT, yes, consistently poor service at least twenty years and running at least in my experience. More
