Exactly how car buying should be. It had been forever since I purchased a car, let alone a new one, so I was not looking forward to being "sold" a car. My wife and I were in the area l It had been forever since I purchased a car, let alone a new one, so I was not looking forward to being "sold" a car. My wife and I were in the area looking at other dealers and after being basically ignored at Toyota and feeling the sales pressure from Nissan we decided to stop in at Tustin Hyundai. Honestly my wife was waay more sceptical of the brand than I was. Years ago, Hyundais were not the most reliable name in the automotive industry. However I convinced her to humor me since my father owns a Sonata and a Veloster. We got out of my old 2009 Nissan Altima and made a B-line to the CSUVs we didn't have to wait long until we were greeted by Marcos. He was extremely helpful with helping us test drive 4 vehicles, the Tucson, Sonata, Santa Fe and Santa Fe Turbo. In all of that time, never once did I feel like I was being pressured or influenced to buy anything. As we test drove each car he was conversational but still attentive to predicting question or issues he noticed while I was getting used to each model. He knew differences in trims, packaged items, engine variations, storage differences and could quote them, with confidence, without skipping a beat. After an exhausting few hours of test drives I let him know that we were still looking and comparing other manufacturers but we'd be in touch. I thanked him for his time and asked if he'd be in on the weekend just incase we made up our mind. He said, "yes." thanked me for stopping by, and home we went We then visited 4 more dealers, this time in Temecula, to check on other makes and models: Honda, Toyota (we hoped they would give us the time of day), Nissan and another Hyundai dealer. They also had slightly better rebate options. Ultimately it was a dead heat between the Murano and the Santa Fe. After a deliberation over lunch we decided that the choice was the Santa Fe Ultimate 2.0T. We were very excited to head back to Tustin Hyundai to give Marcos our business. When we arrived, he pulled the model that we were looking into and we had another test drive. Just to make sure. After which we went inside to discuss pricing. I mentioned the rebates that the other dealership was offering and he was able to make it work for us. He was upfront about the cost, financing options and it didn't feel like we were buying a car. More like having a conversation with him and the rest of the employees in the building. Cheryl took care of all of the paperwork for us and made signing a breeze. We were already in Temecula, we could have purchased our new car there, but, It was Marcos' professionalism, patience, knowledge, kindness, and overall awesome service that brought us back to Tustin Hyundai. Car buying can be a stressful process, but this was too easy. We are now the proud owners of a new Hyundai Santa Fe and we love it. Thank you, Marcos! More
