Hi, I would like find out what happened on your visit? What is your name? Which Sales person did you deal with. We do not like to play games with customers. Id like to find out what happened. Could you please let me know?

Hi Heather, That would be me, Jack Cole. What a waste of 5 hours (3 hours driving, 2 hours at the dealership). If I could make a recommendation for future customers sake, please advise them when they email you if the car they are interested in has your "2k minimum trade" already deducted from the price you listed it at on autotrader. Had that 2006 been listed at 16995 like it is actually priced, it never would have come up in my search. I capped the autotrader search at $15000 because I knew that I had our trade plus an absolute maximum of $2000 to spend on a new vehicle. We emailed several times before hand, Had I known that 2k would be subtracted from my actual trade value by the price originating at 16995, I certainly wouldn't have wasted 5 hours and 250 miles of gasoline to come down and wait for the finance guy to offer me the fantastic deal of my car (trade value 13k to other dealers, actual trade value, not + 2000 push pull tow)plus $5400 to finance. As we discussed via email, my family doesn't finance anything - we can either afford to buy something or we can't. The only financing we have in life is our house mortgage. Anyhow, it was a horrible experience that really could have been avoided simply by accurately posting the price of the vehicle in the original ad. I'm sure you can search autotrader yourself and see that asking $16995 for that 2006 is WAY over market value, it's a way to cover the $2000 minimum trade. Unfortunately that $2000 isn't passed on to the customer, in this case me. Best of luck, sorry things couldn't have worked out. Jack

Hi Jack, Thanks for your reply. I am so sorry you feel this way. I know there is a disclaimer on the sites about the $2k push pull or tow. Its not there to hurt anyone, its really there for the customers that have trades that are truly less than $2k but we give them up to $2k. This doesnt mean I do not understand how you feel. Im sorry this didnt work out and I am sorry that you feel you wasted your time. It certainly was not my intention. I will certainly mention your recommendation about mentioning the $2k trade allowance to the Sales Manager. Thank you for taking the time to email me what happened. Take care.

Hi Jack, I spoke with the Sales Manager about your deal. Your actual trade in value was 10-10500 and the Sales Mgr had put more into your trade. Our goal here is not to mislead anyone. As you can see we have alot of good feedback. Again its more to help customers with Trade issues. From what I understand (after your $2k down payment we were only about $1200 away from a deal? I was wondering if you might consider editing or changing your review? We really did have good intentions. Please can you let me know?

Heather, The actual market trade value of my car was between 12500 and 13100 according to the 3 other dealers I've negotiated with (all on cars costing 14995 or less, so less room to negotiate than a 17k car), 10500 is below wholesale value for a 2009 Mazda 5 not even close to trade value. I understand the trade issues others have with junk cars, my 2009 isn't a junk car and there should be some way to not penalize people 2000 dollars that have a decent trade. From our first email I explained the situation and asked you if that vehicle was within the price range I was seeking, any of our 3 emails back and forth you could have said "Well since its 16995 plus dealer fees, your Mazda would have to be trade valued at 15k or so to get to the car + $2000" - We both would have known that was unrealistic, and that's exactly what 1 dealer did do. He told me over the phone that he would just be wholesaling my Mazda for 11500 or so so he couldnt offer me the 13k I needed to trade against his 15k car.

Thanks for your reply. I understand. However we always have to see a vehicle in order to put a value on it. I am sorry that we couldnt get to where you wanted to be, I am also sorry you are unhappy about your visit. I wish you luck with your new vehicle. Take care.

At Unique Ford we strive diligently every day for complete customer satisfaction. While trying to give every Guest at Unique a No pressure atmosphere to make an informed decision on their major purchase. Our Goal is to make sure every customer leaves here feeling good about the way they were treated, regardless of whether or not they purchase a vehicle. We realize that sometimes whether we just don't have the right vehicle or are unable to reach a customers desired price or trade appraisal-we are not going to be able to sell 100% of our Guests. But we do work hard at being upfront with full disclosure. In response to this particular review... 1.Customer was looking for a preowned vehicle and did an online search and saw a vehicle we offered for sale. 2. Our price was listed with a guaranteed minimum trade allowance of $2000.00 (which means that any vehicle that can be pushed-pulled or towed in is still worth at least $2000) 3.All our prices on our Preowned vehicles are clearly marked on each vehicle with a large Yellow or Red tag hanging from the windshield. Our Guests know the price of any preowned vehicle before ever coming into the dealership. 4. The time that this Guest spent at the dealership included the following ~A thorough presentation of the vehicle (including review of the price tag) ~A test drive of the vehicle to make sure that this was the vehicle they would be comfortable driving for the term of their ownership ~A tour of our facility to make sure that they were comfortable with our facility. ~When it came time for an appraisal of his vehicle, we did an appraisal-checked what vehicles similar to his were selling for at local auctions and offered him $2000 more than that, our Guest thought the difference was more than he wanted to spend. The Management team discussed his trade and even offered our Guest even more but we still could not meet his wishes. In closing, we are sorry that we could not give this Guest what he wanted. But please know that at Unique Ford~we have complete disclosure. Come on by and drive through our lot and you will see that all prices are clearly marked. Unique Ford would like to apologize for this customer's perception of his experience at our dealership and for his ensuing negative review...as this is not the way we do business. Thank you.

It wasn't my "perception" of my experience, it was my experience. I spoke with a representative 3 times via email prior to driving to the dealership based on the conversations we had. Any one of those times I could have been advised that the price I saw on Autotrader indeed included a $2000. trade allowance. What was posted in that ad (and most of this dealer's ads to date) is "disclaimer all used vehicle pricing may include push, pull or tow minimal trades". Not "THIS vehicle's listed sale price DOES include a $2000 minimum trade allowance." Had the vehicle been listed at the actual sale price it never would have come up in my search as I had restricted my search to a maximum figure based on trade allowances from other reputable dealers plus the figure I was interested in adding in cash. I did not receive a tour of the facility, I was shown to a round table in the showroom. As I was test driving the vehicle is when the sales rep advised that the price I had seen did indeed include the 2k minimum trade, at which point I knew we were not going to reach a deal. That placed the vehicle 2000 dollars above what I was willing to spend with my trade plus cash and wasted everyone's time. I agree that all the prices are clearly marked once you're on the lot. For those of us hours away that contact you to see if trade deals are feasible and are not advised that the particular car we're interested in is actually priced 2000 dollars higher than it's listed, it's too late once we've driven hours to get to the lot to realize that. All anyone had to do at any point was simply tell this "guest" the actual list price of the vehicle and /or list that the vehicle included a 2000 markdown that put the vehicle outside any realistic possibility of being within the budget that was stated to the dealer representative several times prior to the meeting. In the end I received a higher trade allowance than the management team worked so hard for from another dealer on a lower priced, newer vehicle. Hopefully our experience is isolated, this dealership has many positive reviews and I wish them the best. I have learned it pays to shop around and find the best deal you can at a dealer you can trust.
