I have stupidly been a loyal customer for over 20 years, bought 3 vehicles from Universal Toyota and used their service department to maintain 2 of the vehicles (I lived out of town when I owned the first one I bought). I bought all new vehicles: '98 Tacoma; '06 RAV4 Limited; 2017 Highlander XLE. The Tacoma had a glitch in it's system in regards to the throttle sensor (vehicle would jerk when gas pedal hit a certain level - I never could find anyone who would fix it); RAV4 transmission completely died while I was driving on the highway - it was only 11 years old; my Highlander transmission just went out (right before I hit the 8 year mark with this vehicle). I tried to contact the service department, left message, received no response for 2 weeks. I went in to speak to a manager. She (Amanda) was no help. She agreed it was very odd for my Highlander transmission to go out so soon 102,000 miles/8 years, but offered no real help. How can a Toyota transmission go out at only 100,000 miles?!?! I told her of my issues with the service department constantly charging me for additional services that I did not ask for when I made an online appointment...she simply said "well, we are here to sell things". So much for customer service.....you have someone who has stayed with y'all for over 2 decades, bought 3 brand new vehicles, paid for all the overpriced services to maintain the vehicle, and told it would cost me $12,000 to replace my transmission. The only reason I have always bought Toyota (and told everyone I know to do so) was because the quality is "supposed" to be superb - take care of it and it should last almost forever. Why would I EVER spend $ on a new Toyota (which is already more costly than the majority of other brands) when I'm just going to have to dish out more $ less than 10 years later. Toyotas are supposed to be dependable. I've found that to be incredibly false (being left stranded by 2 different vehicles). And this specific dealership isn't interested in actually having good customer service or good customer relationships....they are only interested in making more money. I get that you are a business, and businesses make money, but stop touting that you are about the customers experience when you are not willing to make it right (especially for a long time loyal customer). I went in with my guard up cuz I’ve been ripped off before but they are actually really good, honest people willing to work with you!! The process was fast and easy. I got my very first brand new Toyota Corolla 2025 from John Martinez and their service department even washes, details, puts air in your tires, gives you a full tank of gas, tint your windows etc all for free! The warranty is amazing too! I get to get all my service work done on my car for absolutely free for the next 6 years! God bless Universal Toyota and all the people that work here! More
3/8/25 My driver door handle broke and you could not open the door. Had to find a Toyota dealership to fix the door. Mr Carlos Martinez told me it would be fixed about 2 hours and it was on my 2020 Toyota Corolla LE. I wanted some Toyota water that is when I found out Universal Toyota did not have the Toyota Logo water bottles like another dealership. The bothered me a lot and I found Mr John Martinez and told him I had a complaint and would like to talk to the manager. So he took me to Mr Adam Soto. I told him and Mr John Martinez about how disappointed about no TOYOTA Logo water. Because you pay all the money the water means a lot to me. Mr Soto assured me he would get the Toyota Logo water for the Universal Toyota dealership. I was about to leave and he wondered why I was there. Mr John Martinez told him about my door. Mr Adam Soto asked was I ready for a new car. This shocked me I knew that credit issues may stop that. Mr Adam Soto put in the information in the computer and worked out the deal better than when I was blessed with my 2020 new car. Now I have a great warranty again. My car was paid off .Mr John Martinez took me on a test ride in the Toyota Corolla SE 2025. Can back did my paperwork and I had a Brand new Toyota Corolla SE 2025. Thanks to Mr Soto And John Martinez. They both are a blessing. The car is a blessing also. Universal Toyota dealership is the greatest made me feel like family. Bless them all. The Commercials are true they go out of their way make you feel special. Mr John Martinez is the nicest salesman he had all the answers to my questions. Bless you again Mr John Martinez. More
I just want to say if you are looking for a used car you're ally need to go see Alfredo Trevino or Cody McMurdo of Alfredo isn't there. Alfredo took good care of us. He worked hard to keep us within budget while still making sure we were happy with the car we chose. He had it looked over to make sure there were no problems and the few little things that needed to be fixed he had fixed. I would recommend my family and friends to him any day. I wish I could rate them lower. I had an appointment at 7:30 am and I have been here close to 5hrs with a call every hour and a half saying it will be about 30min more. They also proceeded to ask if they text me re: the service as if they can’t see they didn’t do it. The level of disappointment and lack of professionalism from this service department is tremendous. They could win an award for how bad they are. Members have seen me here angry and not tried to find out how they could solve the problem or enhance the customer experience. I will never buy another vehicle from them ever. More
Service department sucks. Had a recall on my 2021 Highlander. They replaced whatever part and didn't secure any of the plastic trim parts under the hood. Did not replace the custom valve stem caps. Lost 2 of them and didn't even put one back on. I'm glad my prepaid Service is almost over. I prefer to to my own work, these technicians are all out trash. Don't even get me started on my 2019 tundra. Missing bolts on my skid plate. False readings on brake pads. I had to check and replace them myself. I would not recommend ever taking your vehicle to this dealer for any work. More

John & Andrew are two of the nicest, most professional, most for helping me get my new Rav4 Hybrid: John Martinez, Andrew Fest, & Benjamin Wyat. John & Andrew are two of the nicest, most professional, most knowledgeable about these Toyota vehicles, and who listened to my vehicle needs and concerns. I went in for maintenance on my 2017 Rav4, but with the assist from Andrew and John I drove home in a pretty new 2024 Hybrid Rav4! Andrew very helpful with negotiating price I can afford and for explaining how to set up phone with car, and both explaining ins & outs of the Hybrid system. I sure I will be asking more questions. Benjamin Wayt very professional and courteous helping to get the paperwork done. Thank You. My husband & I have been shopping with Universal Toyota for at least 25+ years and have always had wonderful service here, whether Service, Sales or Parts. Thank You! More
