Technician & Service Advisor Inexperienced I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra. Though I didn't buy my vehicle from Toyota, my family has bought and serviced with Valdosta Toyota since 1994. Since I h I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra. Though I didn't buy my vehicle from Toyota, my family has bought and serviced with Valdosta Toyota since 1994. Since I had my Sentra I have always serviced my vehicle with this dealership. You are always greeted with a smile, they try to get you out in a timely manner, and the loyalty cash they provide for service is very nice. I usually leave contemplating buying a new Toyota. However, this time I felt the complete opposite. When I arrived I asked for an oil change and for them to check the "Service Engine Soon" light. The advisor told me that "it just means that it's time for service". So after my service is complete I see that the light is still on. I go back in and the advisor tells me that "they couldn't get the light to go off... you need to take it to Nissan". After looking at my manual I see that the "Service Engine Soon" light is the same as a check engine light. This dealership had fixed other service issues on this vehicle before. I don't understand why a diagnostic was not done. I've learned never to schedule an appointment when my preferred advisor is not available. More
