Followed up all day Tuesday and Wednesday 5/5 and 5/6 to confirm complete loan approval and vehicle was ready to pick up... NO RESPONSE at all Thursday....on Friday 5/8 I informed that vehicle needed major repairs so it would be a few more days.... Well the following Thursday (Now 5/15) I get a series of calls, on when are you pick up your vehicle... I not picking up a vehicle that needed 10 days of mechanical work with no updates... Finally spoke w/finance manger Tucker on 5/16 whom explained parts had to be ordered for vehicle and was pending, but vehicle now has no issues. Adv I would go ahead if he was sure no problems issues w/vehicle.... 5/18 9:00am spoke w/dealership and adv docs being prepared... at 7:30pm he adv he emailed paperwork to sign... NO OTHER RESPONSE... on 5/19 at 10am followed up again... no response... followed up again at 3:30pm and..Oh we decided we are not doing the deal...No problem with deal not being done... I can go somewhere else, The issue is after paperwork was emailed and signed... 10 days no responses... then again 2 days and staggering responses.... If Vanguard Dealership Managers and Owners approves of this type of Atrocious Behavior and Misconduct doing business... Hey who am I stop them!... Just telling my experience... so again if you have time to waste, without a doubt check them out.. We agreed on the out-the-door price, submitted our finance application, and finalized financing terms ahead of time. We were fully prepared to pick up the vehicle that same day, but were told they still needed to complete the inspection because the Yukon XL had only recently come in as a trade. To give them plenty of time, we agreed to come the following day instead. We clearly told them we were driving THREE HOURS to purchase this vehicle and stayed in constant communication regarding our arrival time. When we arrived, Benn came outside and casually informed us another couple was test driving the Yukon XL. We were shocked because, at that point, we believed we were simply there to sign paperwork. The sales manager, James(I believe was his name), then came out and assured us he “wasn’t like other used car salesmen” and promised he would not sell the vehicle out from under us because he knew how far we had driven. Based on that reassurance, we did a quick test drive and went inside expecting to complete the purchase. Instead, we then watched them take the other couple back to sign paperwork for the SAME vehicle. When we questioned what was happening, the very same manager who had just promised us minutes earlier that we had first right of refusal suddenly claimed he was “trying to get approval” to sell us an older model with 20,000 more miles. No apology. No accountability. No acknowledgment that they completely wasted our time and outright lied to our faces. This dealership is the definition of poor business practices. Any reputable dealership should be transparent about pricing, but instead they insist you come in person before they’ll give you real numbers. Once you’re there, they seem to intentionally try to keep you at the dealership for as long as possible. Every time the salesperson needs to “go talk to the manager,” you’re left waiting 10–15 minutes. This happens over and over again, turning what should be a straightforward conversation about price into a drawn-out, exhausting process. The sales staff also seemed very young and poorly trained. Basic questions about pricing, fees, and vehicle details were met with vague answers or confusion. It didn’t inspire much confidence that they actually understood the vehicles or the process. The pricing tactics felt like classic bait-and-switch. The price advertised online was not the price when it came time to discuss actual numbers. Suddenly additional fees and add-ons appeared that were never disclosed upfront. They also attempted to force a “mandatory” warranty and protection packages on a brand-new vehicle, implying that the deal couldn’t happen without them. That’s misleading and extremely frustrating. Overall, the whole process felt less like customer service and more like a series of manipulation tactics designed to wear you down until you agree to something. We already had our own financing but decided to go ahead and do the credit app and see what % they offered AND to put the holding deposit down. Wasted hours later and now a credit check ding against my credit report, they added a $2000 "protection plan" to the loan amount. This was never discussed and not acceptable. We told him to remove the protection plan as it's of no benefit to us since we're too far away. They made it seem like it was for oil changes etc (EXPENSIVE OIL CHANGES), but I'm pretty sure maybe $500 was to pay for a tracker being installed and the remaining $1500 was them gouging us! We told them this was a complete deal breaker and was pretty ticked about the hit on our credit for the credit report, only for them to be pulling shenanigans and playing games! We are now getting a better deal on a nicer vehicle at the Toyota dealership in Bryan!! There are way too many options to shop in Texas to have to put up with shady and unethical practices! I explained to him that I was already planning to trade in the vehicle — it had spent more time in their shop than in my driveway. And now that I had discovered there was no extended warranty, I felt it was a liability to keep a truck that might need costly repairs while I was still making payments. I told him that since the dealership had sold me the wrong coverage, and it was never used, I wanted a full refund for the policy. Jeremy said he would look into it and sent me a form to complete, which I filled out and returned immediately. That’s when the runaround began. After submitting the form, I was told they could only offer a partial refund. I asked for it to be escalated or for someone else to contact me — no one ever did. I tried reaching the finance department multiple times at different hours, but no one ever answered. Then I was told my form “wasn’t clear enough to process,” which was completely untrue. I never scanned anything — I filled out the digital form Jeremy sent me and emailed it back as a clear PDF. When I re-sent the exact same file, it was suddenly “clear enough.” After nearly three months of follow-ups, I finally received a partial refund with no clear explanation as to why the wrong policy was sold to me in the first place. To make matters worse, this was an insurance product, and I have serious concerns that it may have been sold by someone without a proper license, which could explain all the confusion and delays. I’m now planning to escalate this with TDI (Texas Department of Insurance) for review. If Vanguard GMC had simply owned the mistake and corrected it promptly, this could have been resolved easily. Instead, I was left frustrated, misled, and still out a portion of my money. Original Review: So the service side has done me well the whole time I have used them since purchasing a truck in 2021. But, the sales side i am now pretty upset with. I found out from the service side, that the extended warranty I purchased on my truck, and I purchase on every vehicle I buy, only covered the electronics. I was under the understanding that it was full mechanical. Infact, I was told that if I lifted my truck that the mechanical discount would be void. So I did not do that, but now I have a truck that is not under warranty, when I expected it to have one. I always felt a little dirty about the sales process I went through when I went there. On March 18th of this year, 2025, I took my 2012 GMC Acadia into Vanguard service to have my air conditioner fixed. It was not working and blowing hot air from the upper vents. They replace the High and Low side service port and I finally got it back after 3 weeks on April 8th. It stopped working after 2 weeks. Took it back in on April 29th. They replaced the auxiliary evaporator core and 2 seals. Got It back after a week on May 5th. It lasted 3 weeks and quit again and still blowing hot air out of the top vents. Took it back on June 2nd. Replace evaporator core, 2 seals, 2 hosed and actuator. They kept it for six weeks and eventually got it back on July 11th. This is a total of 9 weeks and a total cost of over $5000. My air stopped working on September 5th with a pop and white steam coming from the hood I called the service manager. He said bring it in. He said it sounded like the coolant system, but I have been driving my Acadia for several weeks since without it overheating nor is there any coolant leaking on the ground. Since they had kept my car for over nine weeks through the summer, I ask about a loner car, and he said they had suspended giving loners. So, I don't trust them on how long they will keep my car and me not having anything to drive. So as of now I have no air and hot air blowing out of my dashboard vents the same as it was when I initially to it in back in March.
