Above and Beyond I had my Lincoln MKC into Varsity Lincoln for a minor issue the day before Thanksgiving. I inadvertently left my key fob there and didn't discover it missing until the next day. On Friday I called QuickLane Advisor Terrilynn Legal to inquire about my lost fob. Even though it was her day off she contacted her manager Mark Checcobelli. Mark called me on Monday to apologize for not getting back to me over the hectic post-holiday weekend, but assured me the search for my missing fob was on. He soon called back to say they had located the fob and he would have a shuttle driver deliver it to my home. I had my fob within the hour. Both Terrilynn and Mark exhibited a commitment to customer satisfaction that goes above and beyond the call of duty, and this review is their thanks. I would highly recommend Varsity Lincoln to anyone interested in exceptional quality and unmatched service. More
repaired wrong item On Wednesday and Thursday of this week I’ve had the “pleasure” in dealing with Varsity Ford on Grand River in Novi. I had made an appointment Wednesd On Wednesday and Thursday of this week I’ve had the “pleasure” in dealing with Varsity Ford on Grand River in Novi. I had made an appointment Wednesday to have a rear wheel bearing replaced (ominous drone coming from the rear). I managed to get the car there at 7:45 AM and told Jen (service write-up) of my suspicion. I was asked if there was anything else. I told her about the change-lane indicator being out and that I was getting poorer gas mileage, probably from the dying wheel bearing. She confirmed I had paid for an extended warranty and much of this was probably covered. At 4:00 PM that day I called to check on the status of the car and was told that the tech had not inspected the wheel bearing but the wiring for the change lane indicator was on deck. I reminded Jen that I had an appointment that day to have the bearing addressed and I would be in Thursday to pick up the car. 8:00 AM Thursday I was there to get the car. Jen went to check on it and informed me that they just pulled it into the service bay. I reminded her again of my appointment and she retorted that I had it in for three things: bearing, gas mileage and change lane light. In many industries this might be called “goldbricking.” The change lane indicator was secondary and the lower gas mileage was diagnostic of the wheel bearing. The car was ready for me in the parking lot and the $100 deductible for the wiring done could be paid at the cashier. Here is my perspective on this. You walk into an optical shop (office) to get a scratch on your prescription glasses repaired. The tech confirms the paid lens warranty is still in effect. Anything else need to be addressed (goldbricking). Yes, the nosepads seem to be worn out. An appointment is made so that the new lenses can be cut to your frame and inserted. You drop the glasses off a few days later for the service – call that afternoon to check on status, only to find that although the lenses were in stock the optician was backed up and could not get to your job. You pick up your glasses the following morning to find the scratches intact and that there is a $10 charge for the nosepads. Obvious questions are: 1. Doesn’t an appointment imply commitment and consequently some priority? 2. Do you pay for a warranty to mitigate risk or to enable the vendor to sell you other products? Sincerely, James R. Jeri BULLIES Girls!!! Dont buy from here ladies 7-18-2014 Turns out car dealerships DO bully GIRLS!!!! Im 5 feet tall, 115lb & had an insurance check in hand!!! I totaled my almost paid off Escap 7-18-2014 Turns out car dealerships DO bully GIRLS!!!! Im 5 feet tall, 115lb & had an insurance check in hand!!! I totaled my almost paid off Escape last month (pile up at 5 mile and telegraph) and decided to take my business to Varsity Lincoln, This transaction has just gone from 0 to boiled over in literally 15 seconds! In the end I have the feeling I am going to get stuck paying for a total repaint on the MKX I JUST purchased??!! Yesterday afternoon right before dealership closing I picked up my Lincoln MKX from Varsity Lincoln in Novi from the service and body shop stay it had to have only two weeks into my ownership. It already needed to have the brakes and roaters redone,as well as paint that was missing from the prevoius owners or while it as on their lot on the front and back of the bumpers, At the original pick up I was told that this would need to be scheduled at the body shop and that I could make an appontment I was told this by Ben my salesman. So I left that Saturday and got onto the freeway to go home... (Thats when I noticed the brakes were pulsing and with the radio off I could hear them too)... on top of that it turns out that my SYNC needed software updating, my dash screen calibrated to work properly when pushing the screen and the button on my stearing wheen adjusted to not blair the radio at random and Im almost positive I got an alignment too because it has stopped pulling. Wait wasn't this all looked over according to the "certified" protection plan that was attached to my new SUV. I was assured that I would be bumper to bumper covered for 6 years and 100,000 miles. You see I had just purchased my MKX on June 23rd of this year (3 weeks ago tomorrow) from a few really nice guys Ben in sales and Jeri in finance. I had a substancial down payment from my last car being totaled and so I was told I could sign over my insurance company check to the dealership and the remainder that was not worked into the deal of the down payment (a little over 300 bucks) would come back to me the following Monday because I had picked up the new SUV on Saturday. OK, so I still dont have the check but that is not even the worst part. Like I said before, I picked it up yesterday at closing of the dealership right at 6, Ben had it ready, washed and interior wiped down and had gotten the floor mats and net for the front and hatch areas that were originally missing.. He explained that they would need to take the bumper off and get it totally redone to not look like it did nd he could get it in but could not get authorization for a rental while this is done and he was gong on vacation so not to call next week but the week after (thats when I figured somethig was fishy) Then I saw the bumper for myself, It looked like black nail polish that I could have done in my own drive way- not only on the bumper but also several spots on the hood. My paint is that metalic fleck rainbow kinda effect, the touch up paint used was gloss black, even I know that is WRONG. They must have noticed how badly it was turning out because they did not even to bother finishig the rest of the chips that needed to be done or the back bumper at all. I drove off, not thrilled at all but what was I going to do, What good would throwing a fit do. Well I got home and showed the work to my significant other and his Mom, they both said that car was going back in the morning and were not very impressed with the four days I had the rental and this was what was returned to me. Heres where the DRAMA starts, This Morning (7-18-14) we drove up to the dealership and Jay went in asking for a Manager so we could show them the work that had been done and get this resolved. A Man came out, being very nice and listened to us tell him what happened, told me to drive around and we would all go talk to Jeri about this so we could expidite the solution today. I was under the impression Jeri knew about this issue already because I was told it was going to be fixed by Ben who said he had it worked out already. We got over to the offices and Jeri came outside with me because I told him I wanted to see if he thought my touch ups were acceptable quality. When we got outside Jay took the lead and started to show him where the mismatched paint had been applied to the front hood and bumper. Jeri got very rude and unprofessional immediately, putting his hand in Jays face and telling Jay that his name was not on this car so he did not have any say in this matter or something to that reguard. Told him to get back in the pasenger side of the car and even insulted his manhood? Then saying that they are "not in the business of painting panels on used cars"... Jay said "so, your not going to do anything for her" Jeri said back "no Im not going to do anything for her" I was then trying to navigate through this intense conversation hopefully to get a fair result and insead Jeri continued to provoke Jay and even went as far as to start stomping through the lot toward Wixom road to physically "fight" with Jay off the dealership property! All because we were unhappy with the hack of a paint job that had come back to us the day before. I turned to the man who brought us over to speak with Jeri and said that this was so rediculous and he was just standing there smiling like he had watched Jeri BULLY people off the lot so many times before that he did not even go after him to attempt to take charge of the matter. He just stood there watching, and when I insisted that I was not leaving without my check AGAIN, he said they would call me later?? I really felt bullied right off the property,Nothing got resolved and Ill likely have to pay out of pocket for my MKx to be repainted elcewhere, This is going to cost me a lot, this is not what I signed up for, I gave them 6000 cash down on this truck and now I have to pay to have it repaired because it now looks worse after leaving the dealership. I am proud of Jay for keeping his cool when such a easy fix got so out of control, I will not however go back to that dealership out of fear of retailation of some kind for just speaking up in the first place. I am telling you this was not the first time that Jeri had been confronted for stuff like this because of how everyone around him acted. While I appreciate him shopping my loan for me so I could better manage my payments monthly, I had no idea he would flip like this when all he had to do was ok my car to be fixed the right way. More
