Austin helped me look at both new and certified used Honda HR-V and found me a 2021 one with only 18,000 miles. He sold me on the used certified because they came with fantastic warranties, better than the new cars. They gave me a superb trade in too for my Fit and with no pressure. Austin listened to my needs and worked with me. It is a very good time to trade in a used car and I know the service of both cars at Venice Honda will be honest and trustworthy. I'm extremely disappointed with the service we receive at Venice Honda. BUYER BEWARE! We got ripped off and it's not a good feeling. I'm writing this review to hopefully help someone else form making the sam Venice Honda. BUYER BEWARE! We got ripped off and it's not a good feeling. I'm writing this review to hopefully help someone else form making the same mistake we did. Please shop around, there are better dealerships that won't rip you off! We came in to a buy a Honda CRV 2022 on Saturday. Even though their website had shown eight 2022 models, we were told there are none there and they never get any and no one around here does (that is a lie, call around there are plenty of 2022's here in our area). We were told that a 2021 had the same features. Our sales person Joey was very pushy. It took him a VERY long time to get us the total amount for the car. The number was much higher then we wanted to go, but Joey was working very hard to convince us it's a good deal. I should have went with my gut and walked out, but we decided to stay to find out what the interest rate would be. We spent 3 hours there! We were tired, hungry and mentally exhausted by the time we started working with Paul the finance guy. We had agreed on $34k with Joey and signed that number. Paul worked very hard to convince us that we need additional warranty because the new models have a lot of electronic parts that could break. He told us it would be just an additional $20 per month so we agreed. Because we didn't have a check with us we had to come back the next day and only then did we receive all of our paperwork and have a chance to look over it. That is when I realized that they charged us an additional $3500 in "other charges"! I was very angry. I called the next day and it took a long time to finally get through to Paul. That is when he explained to me that they threw in a Gap Contract that we didn't agree to and that actually the additional warranty was not $20 per month, but in fact it was $2,412! Luckily he did allow us to cancel that extended warranty and gap contract. But we won't get the credit for it until the second months bill and will be paying interest on that mount for the first month. Just be very careful that you read the fine print! After sitting there for 3 hours and signing 50 pages of documents we didn't read everything as close as we should have, we trusted them. BIG MISTAKE! Also I called before I went there to check what interest rate they are offering people, I was told for excellent credit it's around 2% and that if you use another loan provider they would charge an additional &1000. However the interest rate we got was 4.19%, which is very high for someone with good credit (I got 1.99% with a credit union) and now we will have to refinance but aren't allowed to refinance for the first 4 months.Total pain! I also had a $500 coupon from them before I came in. I mentioned it when we called. After 3 hours of being there we forgot about the coupon. When I realized it the next day I was told by the manager (who was extremely rude to me) that it was too late and the coupon had to be brought up at the beginning prior to the numbers. I wonder why it's so important that the coupon is shown prior to the numbers, perhaps it's so they can mark up the car $500 and just pretend to give you a discount? This was by far the worst car buying experience of our life! It was extremely stressful, frustrating and took for ever. They filled us full of lies, snuck in $3500 in additional charges. We got ripped off! I wish I could return the car and start over, but that isn't an option. Good luck. More
