Honest and considerate Service people Two years ago I had my timing belt replaced on my 2006 Aura MDX, when it was Cramer Honda. Immediately upon leaving the shop...I heard a whining nois Two years ago I had my timing belt replaced on my 2006 Aura MDX, when it was Cramer Honda. Immediately upon leaving the shop...I heard a whining noise relative to the RPMs. I took it back, but the Service Manager at that time said it was common and would disappear over time. I brought it back two more times and they said the same. Recently, on 12/6/2015 with the ownership having changed and a new Service Manager named Jack I decided to bring it back again. After a diagnostic check, they told me I needed a new transmission, approximately $5.5k to $6k.....for my 2006 Acura MDX. The Service Manager Jack reviewed the anticipated high dollar work order and decided to get involved, since it was a large expense. The Service Tech, the Service Advisor and Jack called me back to say they had reviewed everything again and decided that the transmission wasn't the problem. They could have continued with the scheduled work, and I wouldn't have questioned their decision. They were honest in telling me their thoughts....and as a result the timing belt pulley was replaced, the transmission was serviced with new fluid and cleaned. All this should have been done 2 years ago when the belt was replaced. There was no charge at all. VENICE HONDA, I believe, knows how to generate good will for their customers. I think a lot of Jack for his intervening. Thanks very much! More
