I had owned a 2008 Honda Odyssey that I loved for years, but I was thinking maybe it was time to get a newer one, since it had 167,000 miles and a few little issues were cropping up. I hadn't owned a new c but I was thinking maybe it was time to get a newer one, since it had 167,000 miles and a few little issues were cropping up. I hadn't owned a new car since 1972, so this was almost a first for me at 73 years old. I wanted another Odyssey, since, when my daughter, her husband, and 2 kids visit there's plenty of room for everyone. But I wasn't excited about the colors available. The one color I thought I might like was Forest Mist Metallic, but Vidmar was the only dealership that had one, which is why I drove the hundred plus miles just to see it. It turned out I did like the color, and I thought the deal was good enough since it was a new car but a couple model years old (2020), and about $6,000 below sticker price. They threw in about $800 worth of floor mats and clear front bra. I thought their trade-in offer of $2,200 was too low for my 2008, so I ended up selling it in a couple days on craigslist for $5,400. That worked out fine, as it went to a nice gal with a couple of young kids. She was absolutely delighted! Our salesman, Larry Miles, was very knowledgeable about the Odyssey and took the time to walk us through many of the details and features of the car. He got us going on a test drive, which confirmed this was the car for me. We made a couple of lower offers which Larry dutifully presented to the sales manager. If I hadn't been pretty sure I wanted this particular car, we probably would have walked away after our lower offers were declined. That's what we did at Mile High Honda a week earlier, but I wasn't as set on their car as I was on this one. I suppose it's a dealership policy, but I thought it was a nice touch for Larry to drive the car down the street and fill it up with gas. Phil Klumper did a good job of explaining the optional extended warranty, so we went ahead and bought it even thought I don't usually go for those extended warranties. However, with this one, if you don't use it during the 7 years, you get a full refund of the $1,600 premium. Since the sale, Larry has called several times to make sure everything was going well, and to ask if we had any questions. He made it clear that we shouldn't hesitate to call him if we came up with any questions. More
