Selling cars with malfunctioning brakes I was informed after my second test drive that the brakes would be fixed on the 2003 Honda CRV I wished to buy. My mechanic inspected the car and saw I was informed after my second test drive that the brakes would be fixed on the 2003 Honda CRV I wished to buy. My mechanic inspected the car and saw that the front brake pads were new, yet the brakes were not functioning right. He thought if the service department bled the brakes (flushed out the brake fluid and replaced the brake fluid) that would do the trick. My salesperson Mohamed Ali assured me this would be done! Mr. Ali called to say the car had been serviced and come down to drive it again. What a waist of time! If in fact the brakes were bled then their was a serious safety issue with the brakes. Just after starting up the car in the dealerships lot, I put my foot on the brake and I could push the brake pedal right to the floor. Even if a person were not mechanically inclined, they would know the brakes were not working properly. I again drove the car to the mechanics in St Paul Park. He graciously test drove the car, this time with me and my daughter and her friend as witnesses. My mechanic agreed that just sitting in Duffy's parking lot, he too could push the brakes to the floor! He stated that you would think they would need to fix the brakes because it was a liability. Although he would have to take the brakes apart to be sure, he felt that if indeed the service department had bled the brakes, then the caliper on one of the wheels was bad. I brought the car back to Inver Grove Volkswagon and told Ali that the brakes were still not working properly. He said well the deal is off then. I said yes that is for sure. Ali then said have a good day. I am dumbfounded, how does the state of Minnesota let anyone sell a car with faulty brakes? And why would a dealer be so not nonchalant? Ali had indicated the day before that they had another buyer. Beware of this dealer! Please see my previous review of this dealership under Cargal. This dealership needs to be reported and I will. Someone could have a serious accident with faulty brakes More
