Bought the car a few months ago, but didn't want to leave a bad review based off emotion. 5 months later, I still feel the same way. Terrible experience, but it's my fault. They wouldn't give me a breakdo a bad review based off emotion. 5 months later, I still feel the same way. Terrible experience, but it's my fault. They wouldn't give me a breakdown of the fees they would be charging me the day before coming in (dealer fees, destination fee, because we can fee, etc.), so I shouldn't have gone. When we arrived the next day, the price was $1,500 more expensive than the price on the website the day before. We drove an hour & my wife loved the car, so felt compelled. I know, that's the point of getting us there, much higher close rate. Oh & they offered me far less than my trade was worth (by $3,000). I had to bring up KBB on my phone to get them to offer a fair number. Once we got to negotiating, they provided an anticipated payment based off of a high interest rate. My credit is over 800, so that seemed odd. Manager came over & told me that it's just an estimated interest rate based off most peoples' credit. That when I got to the Finance Manager he'd look at my individual credit & get me the best interest rate possible. Get back with Finance Manager & this was not the case. Was told I *had* to use VW as the lender as the dealership receives some sort of kickback. If I didn't, I'd have to renegotiate as the price provided was inclusive of them receiving that kickback. And they add into the price a $2,000 dealer exclusive plan that gives you a bunch of random stuff I didn't want or need that's "valued at nearly $4,500!" or something like that. You cannot waive this. We live an hour away and would never use any of it except the window tint. They knocked it down to $995, but you cannot just waive this "great deal!". Again, I say all of the above knowing I should have walked out. I've been in sales for 15 years, and the way car salesmen & solar salespeople conduct business is exactly why everyone hates salespeople. Sleezy, dirty, lying, & underhanded tactics used by this dealership. I wouldn't take a free car from them now. More
