Gave me a faulty vehicle. Promised a direct swap. Then tried to run the cost up another $5k. Broke promises the swap would be easy and not cost additional $$$. When it was poi Promised a direct swap. Then tried to run the cost up another $5k. Broke promises the swap would be easy and not cost additional $$$. When it was pointed out that the twice, maybe thrice, promised no-cost swap out was going to cost my my down payment for the original car AND additional thousands to finance, the sales manager (who I will not name) just shrugged and gave me a thousand mile stare without trying to remedy that he failed to deliver on a deliberate promise. I knew the numbers did not look right and my wife, who does our finances looked at them, she confirmed that within one week, according to the Sales Manager's vehicle "swap" promise, we would have lost over $5,000.00 by being forced to finance the $7,800.00 down payment we had made on the 2023 VW Taos, which was traded to them with only 13.5k mi on the odometer, and I can see why. This car has been a cornucopia of noises coming from the chassis (which the service mechanic heard only at certain RPM, and claimed "might" have been tire noise, then refused the swap out the tires on a CPO car that I had only driven off the lot 3 three days prior. That easy fix would have sent me on my way a happy customer, but for the sake of the cost of a pair (just two) of tires, they let me drive away disappointed, with the whining noise continuing to this day (and, it's NOT tire noise, it's something else). The other night, with my wife in the vehicle and the Active Cruise Control set, the vehicle, rather than slowing down with another vehicle ahead of me, suddenly accelerated forcing me to brake in an emergency fashion to avoid colliding with the vehicle ahead. Right there, my wife said, "You've GOT to get rid of this car." Now, at low speed, the car makes a squealing sound as though its got squeaky brakes, though I'm not using the brakes. Today, I hit the driver's side front window actuator to roll the window up. It went DOWN instead, twice. Here is the text I sent to the Sales Manager, whom I will not name: (Name withheld), this is (name withheld), the 2023 Taos purchaser. So you know, when I was discussing the vehicle swap-out, no one (including those with whom I spoke last week) mentioned that I would be "trading" my vehicle in, but that it would be a "swap" as you do not have a refund policy. But, it was explained by the Sales Manager present last Thursday morning, that it was an "exchange" program, where I could exchange my vehicle for another at same or lesser value. Simple as that. When I was looking at the Rogue, I was ASSURED by the junior salesman, who said he was speaking on YOUR behalf, that vehicle swap would occur, the Taos for the Rogue, and I would lose no money and the cost would zero out. He spoke to you on at least two occasions during the deal and assured me that you would see to it that I would not pay a penny more, while concealing that you would in fact be making over $5,000.00 additional on my cash (down payment for the Taos), as well as getting a new finance deal for the Rogue at approx $5,000.00 over the financed amount on the Taos, and at a higher interest rate, I'm sure. You should be more mindful of verbal commitments and promising clients deals that you not only cannot deliver, but are done so with concealing that you intended on making a profit on both ends of the deal. As it is, the car is now making even more strange sounds than it was yesterday, and when I hit the window actuator to make the driver's side front window go up, it actually went DOWN. You should treat every customer as though they are somebody worthy of greater respect than you have shown. More
It was quick, clear, easy. It took longer than expected but only because they wanted to replace a recalled part for my safety. I got to and from home with Lyft.
