He and Walt have helped me cement my brand loyalty over many years. No detail goes unnoticed and acted upon, and I always retrieve my car having been called first and knowing what has been done and why. With forty plus years of driving and owning Volvos, I have experienced an evolution from safety and functionality to safety, functionality, and beauty in clean design. Thank you for your loyal service over the years, Walter Clements and Louis Cabrera... You're the BEST! More
Horrible service department. Every single time we had to take the car back to have the jobs that were said to be done completed as they were not. This last time they tried to say a gasket was not covered so we owed 200+ out of pocket for the repair. This was also a lie the temp sensor came as a complete set ( sensor, tstat,& housing). Well the short of it they billed the warranty company for the complete housing and just used the sensor instead of the complete set. (And billed labor for the complete repair). The engine light came back on and my wife is furious and goes back up and gets the run around once again and they have no idea where the part they charged for is and they said they can fit us in Friday to do the job right..... What a joke and I hope no one should be treated like this by a dealership or any professional business. More

We had seen the car we liked at the car show in DC, and liked the idea of getting a premium European vehicle without the Mercedes BMW price tag. We had the best sales experience of any new car purchase we had ever made (in the last 25 years, I've bought 12 new cars and a couple of used ones). Unfortunately, that's where the good experience ended. Without going into a long and drawn out story about our service issues over the past three years, I'll just say that I believe every negative thing that I've read on this site about others' experiences because the same common thread exists and it matches with our experience. That common thread is incompetence, coupled with BS in order to increase profit in the service department by any means necessary while making the least possible effort to take care of the customer and the customer's vehicle. We always felt that we were being sold unnecessary services while nothing was done to resolve actual problems. To make a long story short, we traded in the car that we really liked last month for a different brand just so that we don't have to deal with Annapolis Volvo's service department ever again. More

I waited in the waiting area for approximately 2.5 hours. When my vehicle was ready, I was informed that I had to pay 265.00. The individual whom rendered the bill stated that the charge came with an explanation. I was absolutely livid...265 for an off track window???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was explained to me that I was only charged for the service at a rate of 130.00 an hour because they had to remove the door to find out what was wrong. And that this service could not actually be covered under my warranty because nothing was "broken". I thought that this entire scenario was outrageous, seeing as that I was never quoted prior to the work being done! I would have appreciated the courtesy to decide if I wanted the work to be done at that time. I was blindsided and felt neglected. I am very displeased and hope that not I or anyone else experience this! I will be looking elsewhere to render maintenance to my vehicle. More
I was told that I could not have a loaner car because I did not purchase my car at Annapolis Volvo even though my car is currently under warranty. Don't they realize that Annapolis and the DC area are hea did not purchase my car at Annapolis Volvo even though my car is currently under warranty. Don't they realize that Annapolis and the DC area are heavily populated with ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY? What an insult to be told this. I fight for this country and give up many sacrifices, one of which is having to relocate. How can a dealership in this area be so SNOOTY EXCLUSIVE and UNSUPPORTIVE OF OUR MILITARY FAMILIES???????I'm glad I did not buy my Volvo at this dealership and can not wait to be transferred out of this area. just disgraceful. Brought my 05 xc90 in for some major work ( oil leak and park assist issue) and some minor cosmetic issues ( broken knobs, hose connecting washer fluid, light bulbs cleaned, and switches not working). Appa park assist issue) and some minor cosmetic issues ( broken knobs, hose connecting washer fluid, light bulbs cleaned, and switches not working). Apparently there was communication issues with my email that stated I wanted the seat heater that wasn't lighting up addressed and the lights in radio console and under to be looked at and that I actually wanted my windshield washer fluid to hit the windshield. When I dropped off the car I was told that the cleaning of lights would be $150.00 but not the information that the price was PER light, I also told the service person that the lights that showed the drivers side heater were not lit up and then there were some other lights in that same panel not lit. When they called me to discuss the problems with the car the light bulbs behind the radio/ heat console where the culprit and they needed to be replaced for a mear $260.00, I told them to go ahead since that was going to fix my complaint. When I picked the car up the first thing I checked was the washer fluid which did not work, I talked to tech and they said the freeze that we had the weekend before must have knocked the washer off the hose again ???? The freeze was normal MD weather in February 20ish degrees so I thought that a little fishy but OK they reattached it. Then I pushed the button for the seat heater only to find out that didn't work either as well as the bottom light of the heat panel which were part of the original problem I expressed when I made the appointment. At that time I was told the seat heater was now a switch and not the light bulbs and that switch they did not think I wanted to replace because it was an 1100 part, this confused me because I thought I was the owner of the vehicle and I got to make the decision on what to fix and what not to fix AND they said it would not effect the way the seat heater worked in the future. OK again seemed fishy but I accepted that answer, then I drove the car away and attempted to hook up my car charger only to find that the console was loose almost as if the mechanic had extra screws but didn't know where they went so he didn't put them back in the car, and the only way the adaptor worked was if I jiggled it this I knew wasn't right so I called them back given some song and dance about how I needed to know wait a few days before they could address these issues(??) So we scheduled it a few days out, and I am started to now become aggrevated, then the problem gets worse because these three problems are very QUICK checks, I drove the car in the evening only to find out that now the entire radio console does not light up ( before I dropped it off it was just the bottom two rows 7-8-9 and 0) Now I am furious with the dealership because the 260 fix not only didn't address the problem at all it made it worse ! So the beat goes on but for the obnioxious pricing they have for light bulbs and 1inch x1 inch switch and headlight cleaning you would expect that the quality of the workmanship would at the very least be up to the pricing. SO the beat goes on with these problems and customer service and requests get completely ignored in attempting to resolve these issues. More
Installed coilovers (lowering suspension modification) on my 09 C30, somewhere in the install my team and i misplaced the left rear rubber spacer that rests on top of the spring. I can drive it but prefer no my 09 C30, somewhere in the install my team and i misplaced the left rear rubber spacer that rests on top of the spring. I can drive it but prefer not to. I called annapolis volvo this(monday) morning asking if they had the part in stock. They told me no, it would be $15 and they should be able to to get it by friday. Should... BUT there's a chance i wouldnt see it till monday. So being the car person i am i know my car is gerally the same as the mazda 3's and ford focus's, i gave a local mazda dealership a call, they told me it was $9 and some change and if i ordered before 2pm today (still monday morning), they would have it the next day by lunch time (tuesday). Not hating, but encouraging others to shop around. VoA was trying to get me for ~$5 more and have me wait at minimum 4 days. how come a mazda dealership can get one the next day for cheaper? it's essentially the same part. wouldnt suprise me actually if both the piece from VoA and mazda both said FoMoCo on them (that's, Ford Motor Company, for those of you who dont know). Whatever, service like that is always going to make me shop around and not go to my brand name direct dealer. And the guy in parts was kinda rude, no please, no thanks for holding, no goodbye when i said im going to shop around before deciding... well maybe not rude, but sounded as if he didnt care. No "have a nice day, thanks for calling", that's just general manners. customer service goes further than people think More
So I am a huge car enthusiast and a volvo person for life. Bought a used 09 C30-R from a co-worker who was going oversees. Only had 24k miles and the 60k mile warranty carried over. Being a car person i life. Bought a used 09 C30-R from a co-worker who was going oversees. Only had 24k miles and the 60k mile warranty carried over. Being a car person i heavily modded my car and love it to death. The only reason i bring it in is because of the free oil changes and brake pads i can get under the warranty. I have a clicking problem and they tried to tell me since i "lowered it (with eibach springs) and have a cold air intake on it as well as various other things, my warranty was void and there would be nothing they could do. I was forced to bring up the magnuson ferguson act (google it) before they would agree to see me. Think im stupid and dont know my stuff just so they can save some money instead of valuing their customers. My clicking noise occurs when i accelerate in gears. They said it was a switch and it was fixed... needless to say when taking it off their parking lot i got into boost and it happened again -____- I guess they dont even test what they install... Again with modding my car, i was considering putting in a turbo timer (tells you when your good to turn your car off when you reach your destination so oil can drain out from the OEM turbo). I called to ask if it had one installed stock (bc some cars do). The "service tech" told me to hold on. I can hear him in the back ground asking what a turbo timer is.... im thinking really!? so what kind of mechanics are they hiring?? The techs seem to be in-experienced high school grad students who can do an oil change at best before needing to reference a Hanes manual on how to do some kind of real service. To add to all of this, the "1-1.5 hour wait time" in my 6 time experience is closer to 3-4 hours. even for my simple check ups with the car. (check everything, plug the computer in, oil change) has taken 2.5 hours for the Shortest ive ever experienced. Thom and Luis seem honest, but Adam is a a-hole. he works there for a paycheck. doesnt seem to have any volvo at heart and doesnt give two shts about customer service except his "surveys" after you visit. I gave a bad survey bc i spoke with someone who called themselves a "tech" who knew little about my car (09 C30), or volvo's at all. Took 5+ hours to do something i could have done in 1, and gives no updates to me as where im at when waiting in the lobby. OH! the last time i was there, as part of their "customer care", they will pull your car around to the side where you enter. i was patient waiting outside when my car was literally about 30 steps away. So i figured, let the guy do the job he's getting paid for... I see him come out, i smile and watch him get in. He grinds my gears 2 times (yes its a 6spd manual). I ran over, knocked on the glass and told him i would do it. YOU WOULD THINK this is his job driving volvo's all day and he shouldnt grind the gears. I was on edge about going back in, tell Adam his employee cant back up my car to get it out of the hill it was on and not hit the car it was parked behind but i held off. im currently at 54k miles. My next check up is around 59k and that'll be it for my 60k warranty. I plan to give this review to the owner of annapolis volvo after my last service and never return. I want to spread this around to inform people of my experience. Maybe you had a good experience and you love the people, well good for you! this is just my take. More
Their motto should be keep replacing parts until the check engine light goes off, correcting diagnosing an issue doesn't generate revenue for them. We went in 3 times over 2 weeks for a check engine lig check engine light goes off, correcting diagnosing an issue doesn't generate revenue for them. We went in 3 times over 2 weeks for a check engine light... fuel pump sensor, air flow sensor, another sensor... instead of taking the time to diagnose the issue, they'd rather throw a random part at it to fix it. The 3rd time we went to pick up the car (good luck getting a loaner) the check engine light was still on. We brought it in because the light was on & failed emissions. They stated that the light will sometimes come on. Um, no. Needless to say one day after we picked up the car for a 3rd time we brought it in we just said F this & traded it in. I'd rather shove bamboo shoots under my fingernails than return there. Good points: they have free soda while you're waiting (an 8am oil change will get you out of there around 10:30am). Stephanie is the only one that seems to have ethics there. Luis is also a good person, and he can only control so much on the shop floor. Walt is a horrible human and has a bad attitude. The service manager only cares about the bottom line & his commissions from sales. If you want quality, go anywhere else. Anywhere. More
