The truck has spent more time in the shop than being driven, and every visit resulted in a different explanation for the same unresolved problem. I was told twice that the issue was the battery and later that it was the alternator, yet none of those repairs fixed the problem. I also paid Wallace Ford to repair a board related to emissions issues, but the truck continued to have ongoing starting and reliability problems. Eventually, even the head mechanic told me to take the vehicle to another dealership because they could not fix it. After all of this, my independent mechanic discovered that the main ground wire for the engine was completely disconnected and dangling behind the motor. This issue was found after the vehicle had been serviced and brought to Wallace Ford multiple times. I cannot say when it was disconnected, but it raises serious concerns about the quality of service and inspections performed while the vehicle was in their care. In addition to the mechanical issues, I was offered a “special deal” for a free key-fob replacement at the time of purchase. Honoring that promise required multiple phone calls, me doing the legwork of transporting paperwork to another dealership, and being told I would have to pay for it before they finally followed through. Overall, this has been a frustrating and expensive experience involving repeated failed repairs, inconsistent diagnoses, and poor follow-through. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Wallace Ford of Kingsport and strongly advise others to be extremely cautious before purchasing a vehicle here. More
