Like the upset reviewer, we had a cash flow hurdle that was temporary. However, we called *in advance* to speak with a manager (Quentin, who goes by "Q") because it's not a dealership's problem if we have a cash flow issue - it's ours. The Walser team was happy to work with us on an accommodation to meet all needs and the monetary transaction went smoothly. I can't speak to financing because we didn't require it. My husband's former vehicle was totaled on a Tuesday and we made an appointment at Walser the same week on Thursday. As the Crosstrek of the color and amenities we wanted happened to be on the lot, we drove away with a vehicle in about 2 hours - which included test drive, selecting a specific vehicle, paperwork and Sean patiently reviewing the (many) new computerized features of the vehicle with us. We had previously read about the Walser Group business model and are thrilled that the experience was exactly as expected. We live in Forest Lake, so Walser Subaru is a bit over an hour's drive. We could've purchased from a Crosstrek from a dealer much nearer us, but the way Walser Group treats its employees was worth supporting. We've been, and will continue to, recommend Walser Group dealerships to our friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc., in the most positive terms. During our phone and in-person interactions, we also spoke with sales associate Kevin Schulte and delivery specialist Humberto. These two individuals provided us with valuable info in advance, as we had questions about leasing (ultimately not applicable because my husband drives too far to work to be cost effective) and the forthcoming availability of the hybrid version of the Crosstrek. We also spoke (via phone and in person) with reception staff Wendy and Francesca, both of whom ensured we were promptly served in a friendly and respectful manner. Despite the distance, we look forward to servicing at Walser as we've no doubt that experience is also First Class. Our only request to Walser: Keep up the great work! More

If you come here for a vehicle I highly recommend asking for him by name. I will be finding every possible way to leave this review in as many places as possible. After visiting 6 dealerships, Joe finally filled my every need. We test drove two vehicles that were close but just did not fit the bill. Joe spoke to his manager and we ended up factory ordering the exact crosstrek I wanted at a very fair and honest price. I have never bought a new car for the reason of not wanting to haggle and deal with the “typical car sales guy”. I found none of those typical car sales people here. They all went out of their way to make us feel very welcome and answer any questions we had without feeling barraged on the sales floor like many dealerships. They even told us to bring our dogs (that were in the car) into the dealership which was great because it was pretty cold out and we spent about three hours getting every detail right. If you are in the market for a Subaru, I again highly recommend this specific dealership and Joe comes even higher recommend. It’s worth the drive no matter where you are in the cities. If you’re not in the market for a Subaru, I highly recommend going in and just seeing if there’s anything their extensive and affordable line up offers. More

I live in Roseville, so it is further to drive than Walzer's in White Bear. I had made an appointment for a 30,000 mile service at Morrie's. I had been quoted $252.00 for performing all the recommended items listed by Subaru for a 30,000 mile tune up. I had some time issues that came up and so I thought I would try having the work done at Walzer's White Bear Subaru. I spoke with a very professional woman and made an appointment for Monday at 11:00 AM. I told her I had an appointment at Walzer where they had quoted me a rate of $252.00. She said that White Bear would match that price. When I arrived I spoke with the intake guy giving him my name, the appointment time and that I had discussed with the appointment person that I would be paying $252 which was quoted at Morrie's. He did not believe me. After being told it would cost $369, I called Morrie's, and with my phone on speaker, let him hear what they quoted for a 30,000 mile tune up. He grabbed my phone and started asking the Morrie's person if they covered certain items. He claimed that Morrie's said they wouldn't change the cabin air filter or the transmission fluid. He finally gave me a price of $285.15. I'm a busy guy and since I was already there I cut my losses and let them do the work. Walzer didn't do some of the items quoted by Morrie's as part of a standard 30,000 mile check-up. They charged me more than what I was quoted by Morrie's for less items replaced. At the very end, they did not wash or vacuum my car. When I asked the worker bringing me my car, he said he could give me a rain check and come back some other day and they would do it. While waiting for my car I saw them cleaning other cars right in front of me. I was very polite and non confrontational at all times. I was treated rudely and saw that Walzer Subaru does shoddy work and treats customers poorly. I would strongly encourage people to stay away from the service area or they will be significantly overcharged. More
Charlie Leang Just purchased a beautiful new Outback yesterday and I’m so happy how everything worked out. Charlie Leang helped us purchase a new Legacy a year ago Just purchased a beautiful new Outback yesterday and I’m so happy how everything worked out. Charlie Leang helped us purchase a new Legacy a year ago and we really wanted to work with him again after he had been so helpful before. When Charlie was not in the day I dropped in Joseph Swenson was just as wonderful even though he new we ultimately wanted to work with Charlie again and spent a lot of time looking at inventory. The 50.00 gift certificate for test driving a car was available that day no strings attached. I’m so glad we could get our new car so easily and quickly right before Christmas. Thank you so much Charlie and Joseph what a great team More
Great...if you want a condescending and rude experience Never has we've been talked to in such a condescending and rude manner from any automotive service center before, much less any customer service cente Never has we've been talked to in such a condescending and rude manner from any automotive service center before, much less any customer service center. While I would like to think this was a one-time occurrence, it has happened multiple times when we call to discuss repair issues including spark plugs, brake & rotors, timing belt/water pump, etc. Unfortunately, the poor customer service experience were fairly consistent each time we've made contact with Walser Subaru. If you're a woman, the experience is even worse. Talk about a chauvinistic experience. Every time my wife attempted to make contact, it always resulted in a day of fuming anger for her due to the way they talked to her. It's almost as if they have no interest in attracting any business. With that kind of customer service, would anyone want to trust their vehicle in their hands? All of this is extremely unfortunate as we literally live down the road and the sales people at Walser has always been EXCELLENT...but the service center is HORRENDOUS. As such, we often drive a bit further to go to other Subaru service centers who has historically treated us better, cheaper, and provided quality workmanship. More

Awful Experience for First-Time Buyers My vehicle stopped working suddenly, so I set out to find a replacement. This hunt took me to Walser, because I had seen a Crosstrek online that pique My vehicle stopped working suddenly, so I set out to find a replacement. This hunt took me to Walser, because I had seen a Crosstrek online that piqued my interest. Arriving there, I was greeted by Sean — seemingly friendly, acceptably helpful during a test drive. Actually attempting to purchase the vehicle was a nightmare — everything everyone had warned me about regarding car salesmen was exhibited. Sean tried to lie to me about my own credit score, and said that lenders saw me as risky since I had never had a car loan before. We all know this isn’t true. With a 787, I knew I could do better than the 6.19%, or even the 5.14%, APR that they offered. Not only that, but I felt incredibly pressured. Whenever I expressed hesitancy, I was made to feel stupid, quite frankly. And when I decided to go through with the purchase despite a very bad gut feeling, it seemed as though everything I wanted or needed was SO difficult for this salesman. Examples: Explaining warranties and insurance. Getting me connected with the three months of Sirius he had promised. Filling the tank up with gas, a common courtesy when someone spends thousands at your dealership. Taking my down payment was even made to seem difficult. After Sean made me feel that even my down-payment was an inconvenience to him (I was going to put 75% on a credit card and take 25% from my bank, since my transfer had not yet been completed so that I could pull it all from my bank), I said never mind and that I would maybe return the next day once the entire down payment would be available in my bank account. Sean did not even shake my hand when I left! Thank God I walked away. I was able to go to a different dealership (Morrie’s in Minnetonka), where they fought to get me an APR that was HALF of what Walser said I could get, made sure I was in LOVE with the car I bought, and explained all the different ways I could protect my purchase. They also didn’t leave me alone for 20 minutes at a time or make me feel ridiculous for asking questions that many first-timers might ask I was able to get the car of my dreams, PLUS a bumper to bumper warranty, three years of standard maintenance, AND Minnesota protection for HALF of what my monthly payment would have been for ONLY a car with gap insurance at Walser. I very strongly do not recommend that anyone take their business here. Perhaps my experience was an outlier but, based on the hours I spent there, they seem profit-seeking, dishonest, and as if they couldn’t care less about the customer. More

I asked what did they mean it was a brand new car. the person helping me did not know exactly what was wrong. I refused to take a car that had electrical problems and was given a loaner car. I was asked not to smoke in the car. since I don't smoke that is not a problem. when I got in the loaner car it stunk like cigarette smoke and had pine needles all over the floor, a coat of dust on the dash. no one called me on Monday, on Tuesday my husband called and was told they had to special order a part and it would not be in until Friday. on Friday I received a call my car was ready. when I asked what was wrong in the first place I was told " your problem was you blew the fuse box. ". when I state that the mechanics had done this the person on the phone cont to say it was my problem. at this point my husband arrived at the dealership. they gave me a measly $60 off the installation. I am not sure I can trust my brand new car to keep working. I would never ever recommend these mechanics to work on a toy car let alone a real one. VERY POOR SERVICE More
