I came to Walser Toyota with my 2020 Highlander with a trunk that would not open, upon diagnostics was told there was a water intrusion issue and it would cost me 6k to fix it. I purchased an extended war trunk that would not open, upon diagnostics was told there was a water intrusion issue and it would cost me 6k to fix it. I purchased an extended warranty bumper to bumper on this car, it is a car that stays in a climate controlled garage and I don’t really drive a lot, it was purchased as a certified used vehicle in 2023, it’s clearly not been through any flooding. The dealership manager told me he would not attempt a warranty claim because water intrusion is not a covered service and told me to deal with the dealership that sold me the car (not really close to where I live). Now, here’s what I think, if there’s water where there shouldn’t be it’s because there’s a gap somewhere that needs to be fixed, and it is no fault of mine. The initial employee had the nerve to say that maybe it happened at car wash… I’m sorry but I live in MN where there’s salt on the roads for most of the year, so yes I do wash my car as any good car owner should! So, I scheduled an appointment with the dealership that sold me the car because Walser Toyota just didn’t want to deal with me, let’s see what they say… More
