Wesley Chapel Honda

Typical Dealership I must preface this review with a few things. 1) I'm only reviewing THIS instance. I attempted to buy a used vehicle and it was unsuccessful. 2) whi I must preface this review with a few things. 1) I'm only reviewing THIS instance. I attempted to buy a used vehicle and it was unsuccessful. 2) while my review states NO if i'd recommend, that is just for this instance. I'd probably retry for the next vehicle, or even service, but for today, I'd not. So.. I had been working with our CU's Auto Advisor, who hadn't given us anything we liked from her limited offerings. So i opted to do the legwork myself, and found an Odyssey that looked interesting. So I emailed the dealership and Rob responded. We made an appointment to check out the vehicle to test drive. I opted to test drive it first, as my wife wouldn't be able to until the next day, and I worked close to WCH. When I get there, a thunderstorm had started and didn't seem to move away. Rob greeted me and we went to check out the van and to take a test drive. If you'd look at the pictures of the van, the interior was clean and sharp. When I got in it, the reality was that it was filthy inside. Bottle caps in the cup holders, one of the paper service mats was ripped and crumpled in the middle row, along with crushed cookies or crackers. Pennies all over the place. In fact, when I went to the 3rd row to check it out, the 40% seat was folded down, so when I tilted it up, there was an unopened box of those Trolli Gummy worms (not sure if sour or regular), which I handed to Rob. So obviously, someone either test drove the car for an extended period, or someone from the dealership took it home as a loaner. Either way, there was NO reason why someone should test drive the car in that way, considering the Carfax online said it was offered for sale for over 2 months.. So I go in with Rob, who goes to work the numbers. Now I was fully expecting to see some nice numbers sicne its been for sale for 2 months now (per carfax) and I've already had quotes for the EX-L model (this was a 2015 Odyssey EX without leather and about 28K miles I believe). So imagine my surprise when they come back with a few dollars under $30,000. For a 2015 Odyssey EX.. plain. nothing added. I basically laughed inside and said no. That price wouldn't work, since I already had two quotes for the EX-L model with leather, sunroof, extra features like power liftgate, lane warning and front collision warning for the same price. In fact one of those quotes included a DVD system, but since it was black, we weren't thrilled at it. I countered $27,000 (knowing they wouldn't take it since htey tried slapping me with dealer fee AND a reconditioning fee). Now this was a first. He wanted me to sign saying i'd take the car today if they did that price AND leave a good rating on this site. Long story shorter.. they never could match, and I walked out, knowing the next morning I'd be visiting another dealer for the same model year vehicle at a better price. So ultimately, we ended up at another dealer the next morning, where we got a 2015 Odyssey EX that was a Certified PreOwned for a much better price. Clean carfax, and the initial OutTheDoor price was under $24,000. We added GAP and ended up buying 4 new tires as I didn't like the tires that was on it, but STILL the other dealer price was WAY below what Wesley Chapel Honda wanted to charge me. I'd still have added GAP insurance so the saving then would have been greater. After I left, WCH even jacked up the price by $600 online later that evening/next morning, and while it went down, its still listed as higher than when I went. So again, for THIS instance, I'd not recommend WCH. Rob was nice, we had a good chat, but once he left for the numbers, the typical dealership routine came out in force. In fact, the price I was quoted, for that number, I could have spent $500 more and gotten a brand new (2017) Toyota Sienna LX (also a choice of ours) that was comparable to the Odyssey EX, out the door. Sorry Wesley Chapel.. you lost me for this sale. More

Jeff heard me out and helped me get in a car that I liked and fit my needs. Jeff went above and beyond for me and my family.
