I had a pleasant car buying experience at Westchester Toyota over the July 4th weekend. I knew I wanted a 4 door sedan but was somewhat open minded about the exact model. Jose, whom I dealt with, was ver Toyota over the July 4th weekend. I knew I wanted a 4 door sedan but was somewhat open minded about the exact model. Jose, whom I dealt with, was very patient and explained to me very thoroughly the features of every sedan models which made my decision making process very easy. I ended up buying a Camry! My credit isn't perfect however, their finance team worked very hard to make the deal possible without raising the price or anything of that sort. What I appreciated the most is the courteous manner in which they treated me. They were very patient with me throughout the process and I didn't feel like I was being pushed for sale at any point. Thanks Jose and Finance team for your help! I will recommend you to all my friends and family. More
I have always been a ford buyer except this past JUNE. Being that the economy has hit my pocket book I had to set my standards lower, and seek a cheap car. My wife on the other hand has always been a Toyota fan between her and her mother they have bought 6 Toyotas. Well The adventure began in JUNE. I went to one dealership seeking a cheap Toyota Corolla. The salesman said "hey ill hook u up with NEW 2010 at a super discount." So of course we went back and forth and settled on a price. Of course I was low balled and then 4K later we settled on a price for 10.5 Tax, title etc with my 2007 Toyota corolla S trade inn at 6K which blue book had it at 9K. I got everything in writing at Mamaroneck dealership. I then called several other dealers to see who still had any new 2010 in stock. I called NJ, and NY locations. WESTCHESTER TOYOTA said WE DO! I show up one hour after calling them! Yes, you guessed it I was a victim of BAIT-AND-SWITCH no new 2010 in stock. They then decided to tell me we will "give you a 2011 for the same price out the door with tax, title, licene like the other dealership quoted you at." I was like GREAT!!! I then proceed to call Mike at the Mamroneck dealership and inform them of what I was offered and if they could go lower or do better? He laughed and said looks like that dealership is still doing "HANKY PANKY" business. They said " come signing time they will jack it up 1K if not more" I get a courtesy phone call the next morning. I informed the lady that I was still going over only if we were still at agreement for 10.5 and no hanky panky because I was informed they had a history of doing that. I don't want you wasting my time nor do I want to waste yours. The Lady assured me this would not happen. I show up and come signing time yes, you guessed it they jacked it up 2K. The salemans(Jaime) was like what we never agreed on that. I then busted out with the check already pre-written for 10.5 and all the paperwork from the other dealership that they had give me break down on every part of the sale. I was like my wife was even there when you said this! At this point I really should have just left and never came back for being INSULTED! I call the general Toyota customer service at that point being that I'm trading inn a 2007 and also own a 1998 Toyota and my wife has been loyal to the company. They didn't really care or do anything, but say we will send the complaint to them. I then proceed to go back the next day and the deal was made 7 hours later. When i was at the sale they had me write a check for the payoff of 1616. On the check I wrote PAYOFF FOR TOYOTA COROLLA 2007. The check is number 95 and dated 6/8/10 and the dealership cashed it on 6/10/10. In addition at the sale they talked me into doing 0% interste for 60 months rather than I giving them a personal check. I was like look I have terrible credit I wont get approved. So they run my credit and they said I was approved. I asked are you sure??? They said yes. During the sale I inform them I need it registered in TEXAS because I'm moving in less than a week which is what I had pointed out several time during the sale. They agree to do Texas salestax etc.. So after 7 hours everything was finalized. I was like thank god I wont have to interact with those crooks again! A few days latter we are in the market for our 2nd car so my wife calls the dealership about a used corolla that was in the inventory online. :) They called her afew time aday. Yes, you read that correct afew times aday to come inn. I will later connect the importance of that inabit. So 3 weeks pass by and I get a letter in the mail informing me I was not APPROVED! Yes, this didn't sit well with me. I then proceeded to call them and say what is going on? I ask to speak with Mr. LEE hes at lunch he will call you back. I call again and ask to speak to someone in the finance department. I was told they leave at 5. Funny, when I bought my car we were still their till 630????? So, I leave a message that someone needs to contact me back. Well no one contacts me back the next day. This time Im told its Mr. Lee day off. I then ask to speak to someone in the finance department. I get ahold of a David. He tells me he will look into it and contact me back. Another day passes no call I call again and this time Im not as calm. I finally get ahold of Mr. Lee. He informs me that it was taken care off. I then informed him on the contract it states that I need to make my payment on the 7 of each month. He informs me that he will contact me tomorrow with the account info to make the payment. In addition he tells me that its not about the mistakes, its how they correct them. This is what he calls character. Well, with character comes credibility am I wrong. They clearly lack this! So, I the next day passes do I get a call from Mr. Lee?? NO!! I have to call Toyota and spend an hour or so getting the info and making a payment. So at this point you would think its all over right? Its only the begging. So its mid July and my temporary plates are about to expire and still nothing in the mail. I wait, and wait now its the end of JULY and I couldnt drive my car because my temporary had expired. I finally go to the DMV on the 29 after my tags expired on the 22. The DMV tells me that 1.) The plates had been shiped out on July 13 and 2.) they registered it n a different part of the state I was inn? The DMV lady was like I have never seen this! I then had to ask them how much they paid for taxes etc and showed her my paper work. The DMV informed me I was overcharged on taxes and would need to get a refund!!!! I was overcharged by 250(+). So the DMV does some searching and isnt sure which address its at the different part of Texas or at the dealership, but they cant issue me new ones until we find out. I then call the dealership to ask for my plates and get the run around. No one is aviable once again to help. Ironically when my wife was in the market for a car she was being called several times aday. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk!! Everytime I called the dealership the following answer is given: 1.) They are out to lunch,dinner 2.)Vacation 3.)Sick 4.) Conference 5.) Busy with a customer ,but they will call you back they never do! I have my phone records to back this up!!! I finally have to tell them I have the DMV on the line and they want to speak to the finance department. The finance department said mail is slow blah blah blah mail takes 2 weeks to get to texas??? 13+14 = 27 its July 29 Yet I get it fed x 2 days latter?? LIES LIES and more LIES! I still have the FED-X envelope they mailed it in :) I then inform them I need a refund for what they overcharged me on taxes. INTEGRITY, CHARACTER, HONOR, LOYALTY do we really know the meanings of these words? Yes, I got them in AUGUST!!! So at this point Im like okay no more dealing with these deceptive people. WRONG!!!!!!!! I get a letter telling me I still OWE on my old 2007 TOYOTA for 900 (+) First thing I went was to my bank statement. I was charged for JUNE, and JULY. I then put a stop on the AUGUST statement. I call Toyota financial they tell me I owe and they stated to me it was not the first time this has happened???? They continue to allow this to happen?? I then call the dealership and like usual everyone is busy,sick,vacation,conference,lunch,etc and told they will call me back and no one ever does!!! I then demand to speak to someone about this matter because Ive had enough. 1.) They sold my trade in car while I still was making payments and the car was not paid off ILLEGAL, ILLEGAL!!! So I want to speak to David LEE, you got it hes out for the day! :) I get a salesmanger John madera who then tells me they will payitoff and then Toyota Finacial will cut me a check for my refund. I was like wait 1.) I wrote you a check on 6/8 your dealership cashed it on 6/10. Your going to pay 900(+) wheres the other 600 (+) I paid? "Sir, were going to pay it off" Me are you insulting me?? Look, I paid 1616 not 900? Okay, sir I get you we will cut 2 checks. Of course they do a wiretransfer ASAP for the payoff. so My car gets payed off on AUG 4 with a wire transfer but its 8/15 wheres my money?? They were pretty smart though to hold on to the amount 9 days later no check has arrived and yes my payoff was made but only for 900 from the dealership where did the other 700 go???? So WESTCHESTER Toyota points the finger at TOYOTA FINANCIAL and TOYOTA FINANCIAL POINTS the finger at WESTCHESTER TOYOTA. I keep telling WESTCHESTER TOYOTA why would they refund me when your dealership only paid 900(+) why didnt u pay the 1616 I paid ya? And then you have the nerve to tell me they will refund me? I know they know how to add. Of course they all just take my money and kick me in the xxxxx!!! So at this point I decided to take it to facebook for both toyota usa and westchester toyota. You can go and see the comment where WESTCHESTER TOYOTA posted refund is coming from TOYOTA financial to shorten the story WESTCHESTER TOYOTA finally admits to the wrong and they back date a check to AUG 8 yet it hasn't been sent out because it requires a "higher signature" CR manager????? Then I bring up the DMV issue of being overcharged for taxes. They email me a check back dated from JULY 29 but yet hasn't mailed out. Funny, how they date the check the date I called the dealership while at the DMV. They didn't over pay the DMV, but overcharged me. SHADY, SHADY, SHADY Hmm I can write a check and back date it and not send it out?? So I finally received a check but only one of the two for the sales tax. They charged me NY and TX. Yes, doubledippers. So I got the 371 check no just awaiting my 200(+) for Texas. Its August 17, 2011. I keep calling and calling no one is able to address my issues for being overcharged and registering in a different part of Texas I'm located. They also short changed me 10 from the pay off. Its a never ending saga with this dealership. At this point I have been shopping around at ford and chevy, and trading this car inn because I would like these problems to end. Moral of the story stay away from this dealership. They lack integrity, character, and loyalty!
