I BOUGHT A NEW MAZDA CX9 IN JUNE OF THIS I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE I HAD AT "MY WHALING CITY". I BOUGHT A NEW MAZDA CX9 IN JUNE OF THIS YEAR AND WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE IT WAS. THIS SOUNDS UNBELIEVEABLE ABOUT A CAR DEALERSHIP, BUT IF YOU EVER WENT TO "MY WHALING CITY" IN NEW LONDON CT. YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND. THERE WAS NO HARD SELL OR PRESSURE TO BUY, JUST FRIENDLY PEOPLE WITH A FAMILY ATMOSPHERE. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST VEHICLE I HAVE BOUGHT IN MY 60 PLUS YEARS, ALTHOUGH IT IS THE FIRST TIME I WENT TO "MY WHALING CITY", AND IT WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE ME AND MT WIFE EVER HAD WHEN BUY A VEHICLE. THEN TODAY I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR IN FOR SOME BODYWORK, DUE TO SOMEONE SCRATCHING MOST OF THE HOOD. WELL THE BODY SHOP DID A WONDERFUL JOB, YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW IT HAD BEEN DAMAGED. WE HAD AGREED ON A PRICE TO FIX THE DAMAGE TO MY CAR SO UPON COMPLETION OF THE WORK, TO MY AMAZEMENT, THE GENERAL MANAGER SAID TO FORGET IT, THE JOB WAS ON THE DEALERSHIP. I KNOW THAT THE DEALERSHIP CAN'T GIVE AWAY FREE WORK, BUT IT WAS NICE TO SEE THAT THEY WILL MAKE EXCEPTIONS. MY CAR ISN'T EVEN 3 MONTHS OLD AND FOR THEM TO DUE THAT FOR ME IS UNBELIEVABLE. THATS WHAT YOU CALL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. THANKYOU TO LEO AND ALL YOUR STAFF. More

We had the most amazing experience at Whaling City Ford even though we weren't looking for a Ford or Mazda. We have been in the market for a Subaru Baja for over a year and to find one at a dealer is very even though we weren't looking for a Ford or Mazda. We have been in the market for a Subaru Baja for over a year and to find one at a dealer is very difficult, but that was the only way we'd make the purchase. We drove almost an hour for the best, no pressure service and would recommend Jay Drouin to anyone whom is going to purchase from their inventory. Jay, whom normally sells their Mazda's didn't blink at the opportunity to assist us with our used car purchase. He is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating - the entire team was great! If you are in the New London area this if defiantly the dealership for you. If your not in their area, but they have what you want in their inventory the trip there will be well worth it! I went to Whaling City for the first time after experiencing what other dealers call a "low pressure " Sales experience. I met with a sales consultant who answered every question I had even my test experiencing what other dealers call a "low pressure " Sales experience. I met with a sales consultant who answered every question I had even my test question which I use to make sure the sales guy isn't just making things up. After a long test drive ( I really got to check out this car) I was given a sheet with all of the numbers including an out the door price!! I was surprised . We had to haggle a bit that's the way it works . Negotiations were easy and laid back Brian came over and we were able to come to an agreement. an hour and a half later I left with my new Mazda3. I was never made to feel like I had to make a decision right there. In fact they even offered to let me take the car for a longer test drive with out a salesperson. Love the car and the sales experience was great! Already thinking about a new ar for my girlfriend. Whaling City is the first stop ! More

DO NOT GO TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!! CROOKS!!! I was in the area visiting from Colorado when the steering rack on my Windstar blew a seal. Normally I would fix it myself, but being 2000 miles from home in the area visiting from Colorado when the steering rack on my Windstar blew a seal. Normally I would fix it myself, but being 2000 miles from home i had little choice but to take it to a dealer. I took the van in and told them - "it needs a rebuilt steering rack." I get a call later in the day from the service adviser telling me that the a-frame was so rotted that they would have to replace it too - adding $1300 to an already $1000 repair. The adviser told me the van was unsafe to drive. I work on this van all the time and knew that there was minimal rust. So I go back to the dealership and look under the van in the parking lot. I don't see any corrosion. Next I asked them to put it on a lift and show me the rust and they refuse! So I tell them I am taking the van elsewhere. Then they try and charge me a $100 diagnostic charge. At that point I told them to get the Ford District Manager on the phone, so they let me go without paying the $100. I took it to the Ford dealer in Mystic who fixed it in one day, said the A-frame was fine and charged $100 less than Whaling City wanted for the Steering Rack. I have put 4000 miles on the van since, it runs fine. I put it up in the air when I got home and there is absolutely no corrosion on the A-Frame. Whaling City are a bunch of crooks who figured I was desperate being far from home and would just pay whatever. This sort of thievery starts at the top. I used to work for auto dealers in the service department and can tell you crooked dealerships have crooked owners and managers. The mechanics and service advisers have little to gain by ripping people off, but they have to go along to keep their jobs. More
