Dear Mr. Knowles, First, we would like to apologize that we were unable to come to terms on the purchase of a new Honda Civic. As you know, it is in the best interest of our customers and Williams Honda to come to terms on figures towards a car purchase. Williams Honda evaluates trade-in values of our customers by using auction averages, and the quantity availability of a particular model. Using that formula, we try to give a customer a fair market value on every vehicle. Your 2007 Dodge Caravan with 71000 miles was evaluated in its current mechanical and physical condition using that model. Williams Honda also offered manufacturer invoice price less the $500 manufacturer to dealer cash to give you the best deal on the 2012 Civic. In closing, we humbly ask for your forgiveness and a second chance to make it right. If you have already purchased a vehicle, please accept our congratulations on your purchase. Williams Honda

To whom it may concern, I appreciate the response, however, I would have preferred that you spelled my name correctly...Knoll. Also, I would like to say that I never complained at all about the price offered. As you have 24 '12 Civics still on your lot with the '13 model coming soon, the market sets your options for this pricing and the $500 manufacturer rebate is from Honda to make selling the car easier on the dealer. None of this has anything to do with my trade in or its value. My issue came with the offering on the Grand Caravan and how it was handled. The offer I got was a few hundred dollars less than what NADA, Kelley Blue Book, IntelliChoice, and Edmunds set for an '07 Grand Caravan in "rough" shape and this is based on the mileage as you described, and for the "trade-in" not retail. My van is not even close to being in "rough" shape, and I was not expecting an offer for one in "Exceptional" condition either. I was basing my expectation on "Average" trade in for each which was around $7000. I may have considered an offer less than I was expecting, however I am not going to give the car to Williams for $300 less than "rough" either. I stand by my comment that your business manager tried to lowball me to steal my trade to pump up your profit at my expense. I have not replaced the van yet as I decided at the time I would probably wait for the '13 models to be out, but I don't know that I will do business with Williams as I was left with a bad taste for your business practices. I was very displeased with how this was handled, and felt disrespected. That is why I decided to do a write up and share my experience with others. Randy Knoll
