Sharyn, I understand your frustration, and agree that a new car shouldn't have issues like this. With all of the new technology in your new RAV4 there will periodically be updates that need to take place; however, most of the updates don't require a trip to the dealership and can be done from the screen in the RAV4. In rare cases our technicians need to update the DCM, which is the part that communicates from the technology to the computers in the vehicle in order to keep everything in sync. While we understand this can be frustrating (especially on a new vehicle), it is something that has to be done to ensure that the vehicle operates properly. I apologize that you had to leave the vehicle with us as your expectations were to have a no-issue, new vehicle.
