had an issue with my car and had another shop fix it under an insurance claim but upon getting it back the issue continued. They told me they only reset the lights despite getting an insurance payout so under an insurance claim but upon getting it back the issue continued. They told me they only reset the lights despite getting an insurance payout so my insurance agreed to having wiscasset ford inspect their work and finish the repairs. Wisscasset ford took my car completely apart, as told to me by my insurance adjuster when they went out to see it but wiscasset ford told them that nothing was wrong wirh it other than wear and tear. This i knew was xx given the fact that the first shop told me they didnt do all the repairs. My adjuster told me wiscasset ford would call me. That was on a monday. Crickets. Wednesday I called wiscasset ford to be told the car was all set someone would be texting me photos. Crickets. Thursday I was on my way to get the car since I was told it was all set despite not getting any texts. So I called them to confirm my car was ready to be told it was still in pieces waiting for approval on a text they never sent. I reminded them they didn'tsend me anything. I finally got their estimate for repairs that was just under 5,000! They wanted to charge me a crazy amount for new tires for one example. The same price i paid for a Toyota Tacoma but my car is a small 4 door sedan. Knowing their prices are way too inflated and I could get it all done at a better rate and my lack of trust in them, I denied all repairs, According to them nothing was mechanically wrong with it and I knew the issue was due to the first claim. They said I could picked it up the next day. I did, and it had even more issues now than it did prior. The undergarage protector to the motor was dragging on the ground. I heard the noise but had no idea where it was coming from, but when I smelled smoke I pulled over to investigated to see it dragging on the road. I had had enough called my insurance and opened a second claim against wisscasset Ford and had my car towed to my old mechanic in NH whom I did business with for 20yrs prior to moving to maine. Thankful for Triple A premium. They did infact confirm that the first shop did not do all the repairs covered under my first claim and confirmed damage done by wiscasset Ford. My car now had mechanical damage. My insurance will be going after them for reimbursement. I have never had a shop have not just poor communication which is evident by many other reviews but did damage to my vehicle as well. I wonder if any of them are actually certified. The worst experience of my life. Avoid! More
My first experience at wiscassett Ford was good until 8 months later the sensors started going crazy. Found out it was caused my a leak around the taillight, which alone costs $2500. It also needs a new si months later the sensors started going crazy. Found out it was caused my a leak around the taillight, which alone costs $2500. It also needs a new silanod and harness plus labor and Wiscassett Ford will not cover anything!! Looking back on the previous services on my truck and found that it had been in for electrical 3 different times before I bought it. Wiscassett Ford knew about this and they sold it to me anyway. And they advertised this truck as Certified Gold. NOT!!! I will never do business with Wiscassett Ford again and urge others to do the same!!!! More
I've dealt with Wiscasset Ford for quite a few years. I've seen ownership change. Like any car dealership, they evolve. If I could leave less than one star, I would my car was there for 17 days. they told me it would take 2 days. The communication was horrible. The things that they were supposed to do that they said they ac there for 17 days. they told me it would take 2 days. The communication was horrible. The things that they were supposed to do that they said they actually did do I just picked up my car and all the lights still say things need to be done that I just apparently paid for over the phone, Wiscasset Ford has gone down in the dumps, they couldn’t even tell me for two weeks I wanted to trade in amount finally after two weeks of me calling every day I said to xxxx with it I’ll go somewhere else. Meanwhile, they still had my car didn’t finish the job and overcharged me. I am disgusted. More
I went in for an oil change on my previous car. Tried out a new Escape while the oil change was being done. Ended up buying the new Escape. It was a very quick, easy process. Very disappointed in the service department! This was my 3rd time having my truck serviced with Wiscasset ford and I don't know what's going on in the service department but it's gone downhill and will be m 3rd time having my truck serviced with Wiscasset ford and I don't know what's going on in the service department but it's gone downhill and will be my last. I made a reservation 3 weeks early for 8am, standard service, state inspection, and a recall check. I showed up at 8am to find out something had happened with my reservation, no problem I had a ride and didn't need my truck until later. They said it would be done around 3:30. At 3 they called and said it wouldn't be until 4:30. So I got dropped off at 4:30 and it still wasn't ready. I could hear mechanics arguing over something to do with a vehicle, I had a feeling it was my truck. Finally they came and asked about my front license plate, I still had the state bicentennial plate on. I told them them where the actual plate was and they changed them out. Shortly after an older mechanic came in demanding to speak with me, he proceeded to give me a bunch of xxxx for the type of inspection sticker I had on the truck. The inspection sticker was still the original sticker from when I purchased it a year ago. So he starts telling me how since I have commercial plates I need a commercial inspection sticker. Under state law I only need a commercial sticker if the truck is being used for commerce. My vehicle is a registered non-commerce but under maine law has to have commercial plates because of its GVWR. I finally got my truck back and left at 5:30. I drove the 10 minutes home and the next day find my license plate half falling off because they only put the screws half in. I then found all my personal stuff, registration, gloves, and vanity plate just thrown in the cab. Stuff was on the floor, seats, and dash. This was the most unprofessional service I've ever received at any dealer in my life. I would leave one star but the service manager apologized for the behavior of the mechanic and it was fine until I found my stuff tossed like trash on the floor. I will not be taking my truck or my wife's new explorer to Wiscasset ford for service again. I also use to recommend them to people I work with at BIW, I will now be recommending against it. Luckily I have plenty of dealers to choose from in my area. More
Take my car in, first attempt at repairs takes a week and lasts 10 miles. Second attempt takes nearly a month and when I get the car back there is an obvious dent in the fender. First response is "It will lasts 10 miles. Second attempt takes nearly a month and when I get the car back there is an obvious dent in the fender. First response is "It will buff out" - mind you this is a dent and not a scratch. For background I have been dealing with them for 15 years and they have a really bad attitude towards customers now. First encounter Reasonably satisfied. Salesman buggered the threads on the license plate inserts. Had to return to service to correct. Was corrected at no charge. Reasonably satisfied.
