Yes, I’ll take a reimbursement for the overfilled engine oil. And after I get through this back surgery, I’ll even throw in a free seminar on how to do a real 180-point inspection so you don’t jack up the next truck or car you put on the lot. I already fixed the oil issue myself — because that’s what a responsible owner does when the dealer drops the ball. Wouldn’t you know it, my pre-approved 4.5% “same-as-cash” CU credit worked like a charm. Maybe I ought to give Dan (sorry, Roscoe) some car purchase order training — instead of teaching folks how to front-load interest at 6.5% and blast a customer’s credit to every bank in the county except Nissan. I could run that seminar for free too. Now about those hard pulls on my wife’s and my credit: how’s a 100% disabled vet supposed to roll back into CU for camper financing when my credit’s already been peppered with hits that didn’t need to be pulled in the first place? I’m chalking it up to an “oversight” or some crossed wires between Roscoe and Enos (Captain America — though I doubt the officer part). Just a hunch. And the window fix — let’s be real, it probably needs to be replaced, not patched with super glue. I hope that gets worked out, because the assigned vendor only does windshields on Thursdays between 2 and 3, and now they’re booked out on account of the weather. We’ve still got a little time to get the camper deal squared away, but I do hope I get to take it out at least once before the next surgery sidelines me again. That was the whole point of getting the truck in the first place — to make sure my wife, the Peruvian Princess, has a solid ride that won’t need Sub Vet wrench-turning anytime soon. And maybe I get a little fresh air before going under the knife. Because you never know when you’ll check out to join the submarine fleet in the sky. Warning to the next customer: if Roscoe greets you wearing an ENT CU shirt instead of a dealer one — brace yourself. That’s incoming enemy action. Take cover. Thanks a bunch.
