PLEASE READ THE FULL REVIEW:I am writing this one star review hoping that people read this, use it as a WARNING and get a second opinion if they diagnose your vehicle with a pricey repair. The negative re review hoping that people read this, use it as a WARNING and get a second opinion if they diagnose your vehicle with a pricey repair. The negative review is about the Mechanics, not the service writers they only tell you what the mechanic tells them. But I took three of my vehicles there, the first was a 2008 Legacy that I recently purchased privately and wanted a multi point inspection performed to see if there were any issues. The mechanics finds were small issues that I was able to correct. But the Mechanic also said I needed the Head Caskets to be replaced with was about a $5,000.00 expense to have it done. I took it to a local reputable Shop/Mechanic who told me that there was no reason to have the Head Caskets done. I owned the vehicle for 2 years and never found the oil low or leaking. My second experience was I purchased a 2013 Outback the check engine light came on and the mechanic found minor issues that I was able to correct. My third experience was I purchased a 2015 Outback and with 61,000 miles the transmission failed and a new one was replaced by World Subaru Service I took possession of the vehicle and had no issues. At the end of December the vehicle wouldn't start with dashboard lighting up with warning lights again I contacted this local reputable mechanic who scanned the vehicle and found code B1571 which he said the Immobilizer was not communicating with the Engine Computer Unit and it had to be reprogrammed. He stated that it would have to be done by a dealer. I had my vehicle towed to World Subaru and explained the vehicle wouldn't start and the warning lights coming on. The vehicle was inspected by one the their mechanic and I received a call from on of the service writers who told me that the mechanic said that all the wire harnesses had to be replaced because someone cut into the wiring. (He was referring to a remote start that was installed over 2 years earlier) the service writer said it would be $7,000.00 to repair. At No Time Did The Mechanic Refer the Fault Code B1571 and I was charged $191.77 for the misdiagnosis. Again knowing that wasn't the issue I had the vehicle towed to American Subaru in Old Bridge NJ. When Inspected at American Subaru it was found that there was no issue with the wire harness and the remote start. The mechanic registered the ECM with the Immobilizer and issued was corrected. While working on the car the American Subaru Mechanic heard the transmission pump making noise as if the transmission was low on fluid. A further inspection of the transmission found that there were mounting bolts missing or cross threaded and the transmission was low three quarts of transmission fluid the lack of fluid came from not being prepared correctly when it was installed by World Subaru. On my behalf American contacted Subaru Corporate who due to the SHABBY Work by World agreed to pay for the repair which the total was $1048.14. The moral of this Review is NOT TO TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO WORLD SUBARU THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED. Dive the extra distance and give American Subaru your business. More
