We co It started out perfectly. We went online and found they had the car we wanted to lease - a Cadillac lyric lux 3. A gorgeous car, I love it. We contacted them and agreed to terms and set up pick up for the next day at 10. It was smooth. The next day, a Friday, dawned with us having zero idea of the mess we were getting into. We started out as it was two hours away. They called to verify our pick up appointment. We were concerned that we wouldn't be on time and they kindly agreed to push it out an hour, giving them an extra hour to prepare. We arrived at 11. It wasn't ready yet but it was short notice and the sales man assured us it would only be an hour or so and we had paperwork to do! We were not able to start the paperwork until noon as the finance fellow was unavailable. Okay. At some point they told us another hour. My husband went home as the paperwork was done. I waited. And waited. And waited. A bit after two, they declared it was almost done and let me see it for the first time. They assured us it had gone through a complete inspection with thorough cleaning (which twas what took so long) and was good to go. Spoiler alert, it was not. We took it home. We pulled the collections notices and other trash out of the glove box and found they had decided to keep the charging cable. They left Velcro stickers on the windshield. We got a notice that the recall had not been done. Basically it was in no way prepared to go. No problem, we live near a Cadillac dealership. They refused to send the cables to that dealership. To get the cables took a full month and a half of begging, pleading, and hounding the sales person and his boss. Eventually we had to call the parts department directly and had them send it. Apparently sales had never bothered to ask. They repeatedly lied and told us it had been shipped multiple times when they did not even talk to parts. Parts was kind and efficient and had it out the next day and a tracking number to us. Then we noticed we had not gotten plates. We contacted them again. They tried to tell us they had to do the recall first and we had to bring it hundreds of miles back to them - mind you it is a lease and we would have to pay for that milage. Also, that was a lie. You can have recalls done at any dealership. They repeatedly tried to convince us it had to come back to them. The bald faced lies were refuted by GM and the contracts. We promptly had the dealership near us do the recall (a software update) and provided proof. Around now is when this dealership just stopped answering us. It had been a month and a half since we leased the vehicle. Our home state verified the plates had never even been applied for. We contacted GM for help. They contacted us back first to say the dealership wouldn't answer them then that the general manager would get in touch within 72 hours. That was over a week ago and we still can't reach them. They have our plate fees and it is leased so they have to apply for the plates. We are two months in and they haven't done a single thing to get the plates and refuse to respond. Avoid this dealership at all costs. They talk a good game but have zero follow through. The bare minimum of car prep and legally required paperwork appears to be too much for them to handle. More
