Don't bother Went in to lease a car and was lied to about the equity in the leased car I was turning in. Was told that the finance company charges a dealer $3,000 more than what they charge me for a buyout. That isn't true and I confirmed it with a finance company who says the buyout amount is the buyout amount no matter who does it. And how convenient since the value of my car was $3,000 more than the buyout so it would be an even trade. They just wanted to get a low-mileage car and make $3,000 right off the bat without having to give me any equity. Beware! Please do your research before buying or leasing a vehicle. Dealerships can only take you if you're uninformed. Side note: I read other reviews and have to give a few helpful tidbits when dealing with any dealership (none of these happened to me at Ziegler but I just want to help people out if I can)...don't send them anything over the Internet that has your personal information on it (i.e. driver's license, check stubs, financial statements etc). Always go in with a copy of your driver's license, don't give them your actual license. This way they can't prevent you from leaving. And ask for that copy back when you leave. Always give them the spare key never your whole set of keys. Again, it prevents them from being able to keep you there. Please never give your whole set of keys to anyone EVER (i.e. dealerships, oil change places, car wash places etc). If you're going to be somewhere for a while, a dishonest person could make a copy of those and they know where you live so now they have a set of your house keys. Be careful! More

I have emails confirming that we can come in and that the finance guy looked over everything and got us approved! Night before we set to come in I talked to CHARMAINE MOORE and she assured me that we were not only approved but sent me 3 vehicles I was approved for! She very excidetly couldn't wait for me to come and meet me. We get there just today and of course she's nowhere to be found so all our info has to be rerun. They got caught in a lie also saying that they had no idea where our online app went(when I asked why we needed to do this again and that Charmaine said all we need to do is come in and test drive what we want), and Mike the guy we now had to deal with said he couldn't find our app on Charmaine's desk! He then comes back to say our income was entered wrong!!!! Well how do you know that if you couldn't find our app? Place was very sketchy with no customers and I'm assuming for a reason! Like I said I will be contacting my lawyer to file a civil lawsuit for deceptive practices considering all the emails I have promising is a new vehicle! More

My car buying experience was not what most people claim to be. From beginning to end his friendly, attentive, humorous, and kind personality made me feel welcomed and comfortable. He listened but also advised on what the best options were for me without pressuring me just to make a sale. I love my car and buying at Zeigler and working with Carlos H. was the best customer experience! Definitely 2 thumbs up & 5 stars! SUPER SATISFIED customer! More

Very shady place I recently bought a car from Zeigler. After negotiating a price and giving a down payment (which I was told was just a refundable down payment to hold I recently bought a car from Zeigler. After negotiating a price and giving a down payment (which I was told was just a refundable down payment to hold the car until I came to buy it) I ended up being charged more than their original asking price. After assurances from the sales manager that my down payment would be refunded, since I was over charged for the car, I received a call from him stating that the general manager decided not to refund the money because I got a "good enough deal". The entire place seems a bit shady to me. I would definitely think twice about purchasing a vehicle from Zeigler. If you do, please make sure you stand right over the person's shoulder who is writing up all of the paperwork. Honestly the only word I can use to describe Zeigler and even the feeling both my buddy and I got while we were there was shady. I would not buy from them again nor would I recommend them to anybody. The sales manager, Kevin Counihan, is a very nice and helpful man, but in the end, it appears he has no real authority and seems like a mere patsy for those above him. More

Very Poor Sales Experience and no one returns calls??!! We purchased a 'better than new' per their ad 2015 Jeep Renegade that had very low miles as it was a demo or manager driven vehicle that was never tit We purchased a 'better than new' per their ad 2015 Jeep Renegade that had very low miles as it was a demo or manager driven vehicle that was never titled for our son. All was going really awesome and we truly feel we were given a great deal but then as we were walking out it all fell apart and just kept getting worse from there! We were told that the vehicle was being pulled around and we would get both sets of keys from our salesman. Well, as we were walking out expecting to get the 2nd set of keys we were told the other set were not available or missing. It was near or past closing time so we were tired and we had a long trip home so we didn't make a fuss at the time (in hind sight I wish we would've taken care of it that night!). I called the next morning & spoke to the kind lady who helped me initially over the phone regarding this vehicle and she understood my concern and told me it or I w/b 'taken care of' and she would get back to me. To me, 'taken care of' implied that we w/b given a 2nd key...well, that was not the case. I never got a call back from the rep I spoke to and I continued to call back multiple times and after being put on hold and/or to multiple rep's vm which accounted for about an hour of my time wasted I still had no resolution and no one EVER called me back as they said they would. I FINALLY called and spoke to one of the most rude men I've ever encountered (and he was a Sales Manager who needs a lot of SERVICE training to say the least) who still left me w/o a solution and never did call me back as he said he would...at this point I was not surprised. I won't even share the conversation or should I say bullying I was subject to while speaking to him but I will say that I would be fired for talking to clients the way he talked to me and I've been in customer service for over 30 yrs so I feel I can 'assume' I know what I'm talking about. I have been waiting for more than a week for his call back and still have no spare key for my son's vehicle. Even if they couldn't find it they should offer to either provide me with a replacement or new spare key or at the very least offer to sell one to me as a solution. I will NEVER buy another vehicle from such a rude dealership & just wish I was treated with respect. More

Called them at 9AM to get an early start on my day. I was told both cars were available but would have to call me back to answer questions that I Had, An your later I got a call back stating that one of the vehicles was sold, and that the second car was available. I told them I was on my way to look at it. Upon arrival found that the car had several thousand more miles on it then what they advertised it with, but regardless was still interested. At that point was told that there was a deposit already placed on the vehicle. Why couldn't they tell me the car had a deposit and was on hold for someone else when I called an hour earlier? I wasted time away from work, gas, tolls and energy for absolutely nothing. Pulled out of their parking lot with that sleazy used car feeling. If you do decide to call them about a car they are advertising on numerous websites, be forewarned that the same can happen to you! More

I called to speak with our Sales Manager Carlos and he told me I was out of line for being upset. I have lived in Downers Grove for 30 years and I will never mention the word Ziegler unless I try and save someone else from getting cheated out of their money. More
