After having other dealers give me bad experiences I have to say this one is different. Everyone is friendly the place is well kept and professional. I worked with Erik and he made the process easy for m to say this one is different. Everyone is friendly the place is well kept and professional. Overall we’re happy with the Palisade we purchased and I know we negotiated a good deal, but my concern is with the dealership living up to that they agreed to. We negotiated a price and was agreed to by th know we negotiated a good deal, but my concern is with the dealership living up to that they agreed to. We negotiated a price and was agreed to by the sales management team to include weather tech floor mats for all 3 rows to include the full cargo area. During the signing part of the deal they “forgot” to write up the price that we agreed to and it was missing the “we owe” portion that included the floor mats. We had to go over the entire contract with extreme care to make sure nothing else was missed... guess what? They had the MSRP price correct!! We got that fixed and when we showed up to pick up the car the following day (dealer trade for color) they were about to install the Hyundai branded floor mats!! I refused those as we SPECIFICALLY requested the weather tech mats and I was tools that this is what they give free. I again refused and they tried convincing me that because they are more expensive that the weather tech mats that they are better. Not even close... just because OEM is more expensive doesn’t mean they are better. Also, I made it very clear that I didn’t want to purchase any additional warranty plans so they tried to sell me a “protection plan” during signing which they said would cover lost keys ($250ish per key). They seemed offended when I did the math and showed them that the additional $50/month for the 60 month loan term would come to $3000 that would cover a $250 key. Fast forward a little over 2 weeks. I received a call from Jeanette that our special order parts are in and I could come pick them up. I drove up (40 minutes 1 way) to get the mats and low and behold the cargo mat was NOT in!!!! Overall, the Palisade is a great car and Michael (our salesman) is a nice guy but his hands are tied by management. After the cargo mat comes in I seriously doubt I’ll trust them with any more business from us. With everything they was missed that my wife and I caught and had them fix was followed up by them coming across as though it was no big deal and their continuous response was “but we fixed it” don’t do much for confidence. Had we not gone over the deal with a fine tooth comb and had them correct everything that they “forgot” we would have ended up spending thousands more than what we agreed to and it would have been lost in the numbers. Hyundai is a great car but Racine Hyundai seems to be very forgetful (2 minutes from shaking hands on the deal to seeing the paperwork completely wrong) and they arm to be slightly shady. If you decide to purchase a car from them MAKE SURE their math is correct and any additional items you negotiate into the deal PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you get it in writing before signing anything. Maybe I’m old school, but I still believe in honestly being the best policy... something this dealership seems to be lacking. More
WORST DEALER TO DO BUSINESS WITH EVER!!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! Bought a used vehicle 7/31/20 and I'm EXTREMELY disappointed. Eric Jensen lied about car coming with two keys. I also disappointed in the AVOID!!!! Bought a used vehicle 7/31/20 and I'm EXTREMELY disappointed. Eric Jensen lied about car coming with two keys. I also disappointed in the way that the deal was went. It was about 8PM when we finally agreed to a price, but getting to that point I felt that everything was being rushed due to the dealer closing at 9PM. Before closing the deal, Eric had told me that this car came with two keys. After closing the deal, and as we were leaving, they then said they only had one key. This made me very upset, because now I will have to incur another expense that I was not made aware of, even after asking multiple times before closing the deal. I also inquired about the Carfax report for this vehicle, in which Eric showed to me. He made me sign two copies, one for them and one for myself, but I never received my copy. I received an envelope with paperwork, but when I opened it, not a single paper that I had signed during the deal was in it. To aggravate things, I noticed that he was in a hurry to leave, and it was obvious that he was rushing me out of the building. He pointed me in the direction of where the car was, said thank you, but when I got in the car the gas tank was empty. This is the first dealer that I have gone to where I have had an experience like this while purchasing a car for over $16,000. I wrote to the management to make them aware of my concerns, hoping that they would this as an opportunity to fix the disappointing experience, but they DON'T CARE FOR CUSTOMERS AFTER DEAL IS CLOSED. I rate them the worst, extremely unprofessional, dishonest, and worst customer experience. AVOID AT ALL COST Racine Hyundai. More
DO NOT SHOP FOR A CAR HERE!!!! We were lied to about DO NOT SHOP FOR A CAR HERE!!!! We were lied to about the price of the car. The car we test drove (used) leaked coolant on the test drive. They said DO NOT SHOP FOR A CAR HERE!!!! We were lied to about the price of the car. The car we test drove (used) leaked coolant on the test drive. They said it was just over filled. I told them okay I would like the coolant system warranted for a year Incase that wasn’t the issue. I was told okay over the phone but when I arrived to signed papers they would not right that down. I ended up getting them to agree to a 30 day warranty. While speaking with the General Manger I look away for a second and he yelled “look at me” like was a child or something. He also would not honor the price they told me the day before because I did not sign on the car that night. (It was 830pm I had a 1 year old and a 9 month pregnant wife that was scheduled for a c section 5 days later). The manger yelled and spoke to me like I was a child. At this point the only reason I bought the car was because my wife really liked it. after we bought the car my wife and I went for a drive, within 5 miles the car overheated and leaked coolant also the AC did not work. We immediately went back and was furious because this is why I wanted them to give us the warranty on the cooling system. The Gm ended up giving us a loaner and told us they would look at the car Monday (it was Saturday) and fix it. I told him we didn’t want the car anymore. So he gave us the option to return it. We ended up calling later in the week (a day after our daughter was born) to figure out what was wrong with the car. He told us it was a head gasket (which would blow from over heating, not cause over heating) he also didn’t mention the AC not working. So I told him we were going to return the car. He immediately got irritated and said come get your car then. I told him I would be there by Friday (it’s Wednesday) because we were still in the hospital. Finnaly went back and the GM didn’t say a word to me. By far the worst dealership I have been to. They do not inspect their cars properly. Their GM speaks to people like children, and the other managers are very rude and disrespectful. They don’t honor what they say either. Do not go to this dealer!!! My biggest issue is how disrespectful their managers are. Also how they would not honor what they said. Don’t ever go here! More
Deceptive advertising and added on multiple dealership fees. They are not willing to work with any customers. They are a one-eyed snake charming dealership. I would drive 1 hour out of my way than deal fees. They are not willing to work with any customers. They are a one-eyed snake charming dealership. False price advertising will bring them there but it wont keep them. Add your fees into the advertised price. Not the bait and switch approach. wont keep them. Add your fees into the advertised price. Not the bait and switch approach. More
Actual price much higher than advertised price Everyone I worked with was friendly, but that only gets you so far. They really have no business advertising on third-party websites because the Everyone I worked with was friendly, but that only gets you so far. They really have no business advertising on third-party websites because the advertised price will look reasonable, but then there are over-the-top mandatory fees and add-ons that make that price skyrocket to above market value. Any dealership customer expects about a $300 service, but then Racine Hyundai has mandatory upholstery warranty, anti-theft feature, etc. that pushes the price far higher than you were expecting when you walked in the door. For me, those extra fees made it more than $1,500 higher than the advertised price for the vehicle. The price of the vehicle is also shown as an astronomical number for the MSRP and then the alleged “discount” the customer is getting brings it down to the range it was advertised at. This is likely so they are able to get away with all the extra mandatory fees/add-ons since most banks will not allow loan money to go towards an amount that makes the loan payment exceed 110% of the MSRP. If they make the MSRP super high, they are able to have the customer’s loan money to cover those add-ons without the bank being able to say anything about it. Between the way they present the price, the fees, and the add-ons, there are many lines presented in the cost summary. I expressed surprise at how high the cost was and was then told that those are merely all mandatory fees and that this was all pretty standard. I probably should have walked away at that point but I already expressed that I would like to purchase the vehicle and I am an amiable person apparently to my own detriment. I was not offered any time to evaluate everything on the paperwork for myself and was pretty rushed through signing everything. Even though I was left on my own to wait for long periods of time, the paperwork or copies of it were never left with me. It took me till after I got home and reviewed the paperwork that I realize the game that was played and how the dealership took advantage of me. Again, I probably should have walked away earlier, but I still feel like the above practices are borderline unethical. Either way, the advertised price you see is not what you will get. I did complain about the above to one of the managers after I realized what happened and was basically told (nicely) that it was my fault because I signed the paperwork and it is important to read everything, even though I told him I was rushed through the paperwork and not offered time to look anything over on my own. COVID-19 Extra: Almost no employees were using any COVID-19 precautions. A couple employees had masks on but they were under their chins. There was no social distancing. There was hand shaking. Essentially, they were acting as if we were not experiencing a pandemic even though it was late June 2020 and the seriousness of it had dawned on most people. More
Best experience at a dealership As the title says, I loath going to the dealership and I am very frugal so I make myself go to many. Racine Hyundai was hands down the best experience As the title says, I loath going to the dealership and I am very frugal so I make myself go to many. Racine Hyundai was hands down the best experience I have ever had. Worked with Bobby and he made it as painless and funny as possible. Price was a bit more than advertised but they have to know where you live to add tax, title and fees. But even then was still much cheaper than anybody wishing 200 miles. More
First new car I had my eye on the new Sonata since they first unveiled it. Been a fan of Hyundai since the protection is so amazing. Bobby and the Racine Hyundai people made the experience quite pleasant and found me even more incentives being a veteran. Bonus addition to the whole experience i get free oil changes for the next 3 years. More
Poor Customer Service Set an appointment, drove an hour and 15 minutes, waited 1 and 1/2 hours to be told they couldn't find the car I was interested in. Set an appointment, drove an hour and 15 minutes, waited 1 and 1/2 hours to be told they couldn't find the car I was interested in. More
