Ryan was honest, transparent, and communicated with you throughout the process. While he was working to address your questions, and while you kept trying to negotiate terms, and you wanted to think about it another day; another customer completed the purchase at the advertised price. Because our inventory remains available until a purchase agreement is finalized, every customer has an equal opportunity to purchase a vehicle. We understand that this can be frustrating; we have to treat every transaction fairly, and the first customer to complete the purchase secures it.

A luxury dealership selling a luxury vehicle should have noticed and corrected something as important as a non usable 3rd row seat during their reconditioning process. Upfront disclosure of this defect was not provided to me. When I was told by Ryan that it might or might not be fixed I was of course hesitant to agree to the purchase. I truly wonder if the vehicle was sold to another customer as stated and if so was that customer notified of the non functional 3rd row.

This was a 8-year-old pre-owned vehicle being sold 100% as-is, and when the third-row seat concern was identified, our team disclosed it before the purchase was completed so you could make an informed decision. We never want a customer to feel surprised after taking delivery. As with all of our as-is pre-owned vehicles, we ensure they meet or exceed all applicable state safety standards, have no frame damage, and come with a clean title. While we understand this issue influenced your decision, we believe full disclosure before the sale is the right approach and allows every customer to make an informed choice.

I discovered the non functional 3rd row seat. It was not disclosed to me as you suggest. Different dealerships have different standards of practices. Ryan should not have told me and my wife that he would have service check it out and that it might be fixed if there was no intention to repair. The standards of your Cavender dealership fall short of the advertised “standard of excellence” which your corporation promotes and other dealerships adhere.
