I was looking for a very specific model/color/features combination and found a vehicle (Q8 e-tron) at Audi Palo Alto that met my criteria. My wife and I drove the 140 miles each way to see the car in per combination and found a vehicle (Q8 e-tron) at Audi Palo Alto that met my criteria. My wife and I drove the 140 miles each way to see the car in person after exchanging a series of emails about the specific condition of the vehicle, etc. with the salesman (David). The vehicle was as advertised, and we decided to purchase it as this vehicle was certified pre-owned which came with an extended warranty and 0.99% financing. The salesperson told us that the vehicle came with an already installed ceramic coating package on both the exterior and interior and the cost was $1,798. I've purchased a new vehicle previously with a dealer applied ceramic coating, so I knew this was a non-advertised included fee (profit center) but it "is what is". The salesman told us about how there was a warranty for this ceramic application, and we could bring the car back to any of the Swickard family of dealerships for warranty applications/treatments. Of specific interest to us was the interior seat warranty since the seats are a very light beige color. We were told (verbal which is key to this review) that if any stains appeared on the seats, we could bring the car back to the Swickard dealerships and they would remove the stain. My wife previously had a car with light grey leather and sometimes denim jeans would leave a mark on it so we both were very interested in this in the event we needed to bring it back in under this warranty. During the financing process we were upsold on a total care service package for the vehicles’ exterior at a rate of $2,430 good for one year. We were not able to sign the sales contract that day ( I think it was due to the car's "certified pre-owned" paperwork not being in the system yet) as we couldn't get the 0.99% APR so we signed what we could and drove the vehicle home (July 5th). On July 13th the contract was emailed to us, and we signed all documents (e-sign). I didn't receive any paperwork on either the maximum shield (dealer applied ceramic) warranty or the Total care warranty the day we drove off or the day we signed. Because of this I had no idea what it covered (remember that I was told verbally what was covered and I wasn't given any paperwork on these when I left the dealer) or how to utilize the $4K+ in coverage. Over the next month I sent at least (counted) 9 emails to the salesman, finance person (Cindy), and the general manager (who ironically emailed me on July 22nd thanking us for the purchase and to reach out to any member of the management team with any issues) along with some phone calls/voicemails left. I replied back to the General Manager (MJ Sangha) 2x and never got a response. I also never got a response from Cindy and only very spotty short responses from the salesman. He sent me some photo copies of a brochure for the total care warranty and claimed he didn't have anything for his own dealership add on maximum shield. A month after bringing the car home I took it to my local Audi dealer and asked for help from their service department. They (Audi of Rocklin) were amazing and called the total care warranty company (they tracked down the company and phone number as they had experience with this company) and inquired about my level of coverage as the brochure provided by Palo Alto said there was level 1 - 4 and no one at Palo Alto could tell me what level coverage I bought. After about 20 minutes Audi of Rocklin was able to get me information on what I had bought and provided me with phone numbers of that company. They could not provide any information on the dealership specific ceramic package which I understood why. I reached out to Audi Palo Alto one more time and was provided a partial answer about the total care package but my question about the ceramic warranty and process was ignored. So here I am writing a review to warn others about how unless you leave this dealership with something in writing, you may neve More
Service was outstanding. It took weeks to replace a dashboard unit that had wrong mileage, but they did it all without charge. It had a loaner the whole time. He even helped move the baby seat into the loaner and then back into our car when finished. More
