Drove down from Newark for a used car they'd advertised. Reached an agreement (cash deal) within a few dollars of their asking price, contingent on my mechanics inspection.
(A) They tried to get me to sign a promissory note for the full price before I took it to my mechanic. A promissory note is equivalent to agreeing to a loan, that's payable on demand, oh, and BTW, the note said nothing about the car, I would just have owed them the money, technically with nothing in return.
(B) They reneged, in written agreement, on making some paint repairs. "Oh, we'll take care of that anyhow, don't you worry"
....With these guys, you'd better worry!
I finally walked away from the transaction.
Wasted time, raised blood pressure, overall bad taste in mouth.
IG Burton, G_D bless them, and keep them, *far away* from me.
